Entry-Level Accreditation This is the first step for hospitals starting their quality journey. Process: Understand Entry-Level Standards : Focus on basic compliance with NABH requirements for patient safety, quality care, and hospital operations. Entry-level standards are a subset of the full NABH standards. Application Submission : Submit the application for entry-level accreditation on the NABH portal. Provide details and documentation of compliance with entry-level standards. Assessment by NABH : A team of assessors visits the hospital to evaluate compliance with entry-level standards. Moving to Full Accreditation After achieving entry-level accreditation, hospitals are expected to upgrade to full NABH accreditation . Timeline for Full Accreditation: Hospitals must apply for full accreditation within 2 years of obtaining entry-level accreditation. Steps: Prepare for Full Accreditation Standards : The hospital must now comply with all 651 objective elements under full NABH standards. Conduct a gap analysis to identify areas requiring improvement. Training and Implementation : Provide comprehensive training for staff on advanced quality and safety protocols. Ensure robust documentation of all hospital processes and policies. Application for Full Accreditation : Submit an application to upgrade to full accreditation. Provide evidence of compliance with all full accreditation standards. Assessment by NABH : The NABH assessor team will perform a final on-site assessment. Non-conformities, if any, must be rectified within a stipulated timeframe. Award of Full Accreditation : On successful compliance, the hospital receives full NABH accreditation. Valid for 3 years .
