Chardonnay
 Origin: Burgundy/France
 One of the world’s most popular white grapes
 Is grown in almost all wine producing countries
 Often oak-aged
 Chardonnay is a green-skinned grape variety used to make white wine.

with tropical fruit flavours”.
Riesling
 Origin: Rhine Region of Germany
 Aromatic, delicate, fruity
 Naturally high in acidity
 Produced in all degrees of sweetness (dry to sweet)
 Great ageing potential
 Best in Germany and Alsace but increasingly grown in New World countries
 World popular style ‘ice wine’ and dry, bon-dry and sweet style of Alsace and new world. It is
one of grape often used for late harvest.
Sauvignon Blanc
 Origin: Loire valley/France
 Aromatic, grassy, green fruit characters,
 Naturally high in acidity
 Almost always fermented to dryness
 Grown all over the world
 Best drunk young
 Sauvignon blanc is a green-skinned grape variety
Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio
 Grown a lot in Alsace/France and Italy
 Full, soft and smoky of from Alsace, usually fresher and more neutral from Italy
 Almost always fermented to dryness in Italy
