Why Is the Sun Important?
In this Chapter you will learned; Why is the sun very important? What can too much exposure to the sun result to? How can you protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun
The sun is very important to Earth. It warm our seas and lands, brightens our surroundings, generates weather patterns, and gives energy to the growing green plants that provide food and oxygen for life on Earth. The sun is our most basic source of energy. Can you imagine life without sun?
Why is the sun so important? What do you get from it? Most of the time, you must have thought of the sun as nuisance since it gives off extreme heat that hurts your eyes and your skin. But aside from providing light during daytime and giving off heat that warms Earth, the sun has a lot more to give you.
The sun is Earth’s primary source of energy. Aside from solar energy from the sun, you can also absorb heat from the things you eat. Look at the plants around you. Are they growing healthy? Sunlight is one of the important elements needed by plants in order to grow. Plants use the sun’s energy to make food through a process called photosynthesis. This energy is then transferred to you when you eat plants. This also happens when you eat meat or poultry products. The energy that the animals consumed from the plants that they have eaten remained in their bodies. When you eat the animals’ meat this would finally end up in yours.
