Why Too Much Black Smoke Produced From the Exhaust of Diesel Engines?

When it comes to emissions and cleanliness, diesel engines have a bad reputation.

If black smoke exists the exhaust doesn’t mean that diesel is harmful to the environment.

Diesel engines can be spewing out large amounts of black smoke from the car.

Black smoke often equals less mpg and wasted more money on the fuel.

Below points help you to know about the reasons behind the black smoke from cars.

Clogged air filter

Black smoke exiting the exhaust means the fuel is only partially-burned fuel.

If the air filter of the car is clogged, enough air gets out of the exhaust.

Carbon deposits excessively

Diesel is crude fuel with no detergents from the refinery and prone to carbon buildup.

To fix the issues, add a detergent additive to your diesel fuel on a regular basis.

Failed fuel delivery

If there is an issue with the EGR system, the EGR valve may need to be replaced.

Wrong valve clearances also cause issues to deliver fuel. So, check the injectors.

Damaged MAF sensor

The MAF sensor provides the correct amount of fuel with the air coming into the engine.

If it is damaged, produce more airflow in that and inject an excess amount of fuel into the engine.

Always take essential steps for preventing the block of smoke production from cars.

If you notice these issues, then consult with a reputed mechanic for fixing it.
