Microsoft Windows WINDOWS World’s leading Operating System It is a series of graphical interface operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Microsoft Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational software corporation headquartered in Redmond, Washington. It develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of products and services related to computing . The company was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975 .
Brief History of Windows A nnounced in November 1983 under the name "Windows", but Windows 1.0 was not released until November 1985 On November 20, 1985 as a graphical operating system shell for MS- DOS was launched Microsoft Windows dominated the world's PC market with over 90% market share, overtaking Mac OS, (1984). As of November, 2023 the most recent version of Windows for PCs, tablets and embedded devices is Windows 11 , version 21H2 .
Windows 1.0 Windows 1.0 was not a complete operating system; rather, it extends MS-DOS. The shell of Windows 1.0 is a program known as the MS-DOS Executive . Included components include Calculator, Calendar, Cardfile , Clipboard viewer, Clock, Control Panel, Notepad, Paint , and Write . Windows 1.0 does not allow overlapping windows.
Introduction Window 10 Developed by Microsoft Frist presented in April 2014 at the build Conference released on 29 July 2015 FREE upgrade to Window 10 Goal of Window 10 is to unify the Window pc , Window phone, Window Embedded and Xbox one product families, Surface Hub and Holo Lens , etc . Window 10 as a Services and Mobility with improved application, graphics user interface and fast booting .

The Start Screen When Click on the start button at the bottom left of the screen, you get two panels side by side, with the left column showing pinned, recently added and most-used apps. The right column features a selection of live tiles that you can customize, resized and reorganize. We can have the start menu expand to full screen whenever we want.
Cortana Cortana , similar to as Google voice is a feature which helps you finds anything by your voice . You just need to say “ Hey Cortana !”. With the helps of Cortana we can search anything like Cricket score, Train Timing, Newspaper etc
Spartan Internet Explorer has be replaced by the newly announced Spartan. New feature include PDF support, a reading mode that improves the layout of long articles, and a new note taking feature. Spartan will feature Cortana support within the browser, so it can pull contextual information from the sites
Additional Features of Windows Improved Multitasking Instead of having multiple windows open on top of each other on one desktop, you can set up a whole other virtual desktop for those programs to reside in. Action Centre Window 10 will provide a new way to look at all your notification in one place. It collects alerts from your device from all your apps, similar to the notification drawer like in our smartphones.
Additional Features of Windows Virtual Desktop A new Multiple Desktops feature lets you run another set of window as if on another screen. New desktop can be added by either pressing Window tab or clicking the new Task View button .
Additional Features of Windows Continuum If you remove the keyboard/mouse, a notification will pop up from the task bar at the bottom, asking if you want to activate Tablet mode. Place your tablet into the keyboard again, and you’ll receive the same prompt, this time asking if you want to exit Tablet mode. With the rise of hybrid laptop- tablet devices, Microsoft wants to make it easier to switch between either mode
Additional Features of Windows Snap Assist Microsoft also updated its Snap View multitasking feature to let you windows to the four corners of your screen. Universal apps can be Windowed Universal apps, which previously only operated in full-screen mode, can now be used in traditional windows on the desktop .
