World Health Day 2024 "My health, my right" A powerful call to action to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to quality, affordable healthcare. This annual global event, celebrated on April 7th, is an opportunity to advocate for health equity and empower individuals to take charge of their wellbeing. 4.5 billion people — more than half of the world’s population — were not fully covered by essential health services in 2021. This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone , everywhere to have access to quality health services , education , and information , as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination .
What is World Health Day? 1 Global Celebration World Health Day is an annual event established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948 to raise awareness on a specific health topic of global concern. 2 Focused Themes Each year, the event highlights a different health priority, such as mental health, climate change, or universal healthcare access. 3 A Call to Action The goal is to inspire individuals, communities, and governments to take concrete steps towards improving health and wellbeing for all.
