7 th April 2021 “ Building a fairer, healthier world” Dr Rishabh Kumar Rana , MBBS ,MD Assistant Professor , Department of Community Medicine , SNMMCH Dhanbad Jharkhand India . https://www.drrishabhkumarrana.com

It all started here 1946 Microfiche copy from the WHO archives of an early WHO document written on an old League of Nations template http://www7.bbk.ac.uk/reluctantinternationalists/blog/brief-history-world-health-day/

The WHO agreed, and the Second World Health Assembly decided that from 1950 World Health Day would be celebrated on April 7 th , to commemorate the date in 1948 when the WHO constitution had officially come in to force.

Our world is an unequal one. https:// www.goodfirms.co/resources/webinars-during-covid-19 https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/policy/view-stall-the-mass-movement-of-migrant-workers-now/articleshow/75017300.cms

Guiding Principle ' 'the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition.'' https://www.paho.org/en/campaigns/world-health-day-2021-building-fairer-healthier-world

This is not only unfair: it is preventable.  Globally Leaders to ensure that equity in health is the centerpiece of our COVID-19 recovery. This will result in a region where everyone has living and working conditions that are conducive to good health, where health information systems are configured to identify populations in situations of vulnerability,  where civil society and individuals are partners in finding solutions where inequalities occur, and where everyone has access to health and health care without experiencing discrimination . At the same time we urge leaders to monitor health inequities and to ensure that all people are able to access quality health services when and where they need them.  https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-health-day/2021

Work Together - Call to all Leaders WHO intends to work hand in hand with all affected individuals as well as communities so that it can address the root cause of inequality as well as implement the right solutions. https://www.thehansindia.com/life-style/health/world-health-day-lets-strive-to-build-a-fairer-and-healthier-world-680405

Collect timely and reliable data E nsure both collection as well as use of timely and reliable health data. If it able to achieve this, only then it would be possible for it to assess the inequities across the population subgroups and take appropriate actions that have an impact .

Tackle inequities Adopting government approach to tackle both root causes of inequities and also increase investment in primary health care.

Act beyond borders The above approach would protect, test and also treat the whole global population only then we can witness the end of Covid-19.
