1. Every year on the 11th of July, World Population Day is celebrated.

2. 1987 was the first year when the day was recognized and celebrated all across the world

3. The day the world population reached five billion--July 11, 1987 . The United Nations’ Organisation was the one to coin this day for the first time.

4. The primary purpose of the celebration of World Population Day is to highlight the issues caused due to overpopulation, and spreads awareness about how overpopulation may hinder the environment and development. 

5. China, India, and the United States are the top three countries that have the largest population count.

6. The growing population puts additional strain on the earth and the environment . 90 billion tons  – the number of resources extracted from Earth every year.

7. AMAZING POPULATION FACTS The world population increases by about 83 million people every year . The population in Africa is growing, whereas the European population is shrinking . Monaco has the most dense population in the world.   The United Nations projects the world population to reach 10 billion in the year 2057.
