Alliance

An alliance is when two or more country
promise to help, protect and not fight against
each other during war.
The U.S was an alliancewith Great Britain
during WW 2.
Germany, Japan, and Italy made an alliance.







Big Three
The “Big Three” were the 3 major leaders of the
Allied powers. The leaders were: Franklin

Delano Roosevelt (US President), Winston
Churchill (UK Prime Minister) and Joseph Stalin
(USSR Premier) . On November 1st , 1943 these
leaders came together at the Tehran
Conference.





Churchill Winston
The Prime Minister of Great Britain

Churchillkept Great Britain in the war when
they were the only country on the side of
allies.Churchill gave hope to the people of
Great Britain during the dark days of war.







Dictator

A dictator is a ruler who has total power over
the country and its people. Hitler was a
famousdictator during WW 2.There are no
dictators in the U.S.








Fascism

The government controls and all parts of
people’s lives. They tried to make people dress
and speak diffident










Great Britain

Great Britain was on the allies side of the war.
Great Britain was the only country on the allies side
for the first part of the war. Churchill was the prime
Minster of Great Britain.









Hitler

Hitler was thedictator of Germany. In 1933 he
became dictator of Germany. He led a political
party called Nazis. He did not like the Jewish
people so he blamed them for Germany’s
problems.







Internment camp

Internment camp is a place where prisoners are
held during wartime. The Japanese went to
internment camps because of the attack on
Pearl Harbor. The internment camps weren’t as
harsh as holocaust.




Japan

On 1943 Japan bombed Pearl Harbor
because Japan was scared of the Unites States’
strong military. Japan’s prime minister was
Hirohito.









Roosevelt

Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd President of
the United States. He died during the war
because of a cerebral hemorrhage.




Leaders of the Axis

The Leaders of the Axis were Hitler, Hirohito,
Mussolini. They all wanted more land but Hitler
was selfish he wanted to rule the whole world.




Mussolini Benito

Mussolini was the leader of Italy. He led the
National Fascist Party.




Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor was the military base for the U.S.
located in Hawaii. In 1941 Japan bombed Pearl
Harbor.




Rosie the Riveter

When women worked doing men jobs they
were called Rosie the riveter. They often cut
their hair short so it would not get in the way.



Soviet Union
The Soviet Union was on the Axis but they
changed to the Allies because the Axis broke

their promise. The Soviet Union changed their
name to Russia.



Truman
Harry S. Truman was the 33
rd
president and the
second president during World War 2. He gave
the order to drop the atom bomb on
Hiroshima, Japan. It was not easy deciding to

drop the bomb it had lots of pros and cons like:
if drop it a lot of people will get killed but no
soliders will not die.


Victory Garden
When the government rationed food during the
war, people were encouraged to grow their
own fruits and vegetables know as Victory
Gardens. They were also called war gardens or
food gardens for defense.

Eisenhower
Dwight D. Eisenhower was in command of the
Allied Forces in World War II. Eisenhower
commanded the Allies to land in Europe on D-
Day. This great invasion helped contribute to
the Allies beating the Axis Powers.

Women
When most of the men left for war the women
took the men’s job. There were one out of four
people that were women working at men jobs.
