8. 8 Can you Identify these simulators? During World War I mechanical horses were used to train soldiers. Mannequins are used in medical training to practise a range of procedures. Driving simulators are becoming more widely used. Aircraft simulators are mounted on hydraulics to mimic the movement of the plane. These simulators have high fidelity - this means they are very ‘life like’. Pilots, sometimes need counselling if they ‘crash’ the simulations as they seem so real. Do you ever forget that a computer game is not real. Do you get cross or upset if you loose?
