Yonaguni Monument

This monument lies submerged off the southern coast of Yonaguni, one of the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. The monument consists of a collection of sandstone and mudstone structures, which seems to be a road, star-shaped platforms and a pyramid stuck to the seabed.

Beliefs Many people believe that the monument is a natural formation. In fact, some scientist say it was created by seismic activity like earthquakes. But M asaaki Kimura, a professor at the University of Ryukyus, thinks is human made.

Masaaki Kimura Professor Kimura thinks the structures are too precise to be accidents of nature. He also speculates that this could be a ruin belonging to the lost civilization of Mu.

Did you know that... It is believed that 20.000 years ago there was a stadium in Yonaguni?
