The ‘Lil Wayne Farewell Tour

Birthplace: New Orleans, Louisiana, United States*
Labels: Young Money Ent/Cash Money Records/Universal Motown
Nicknames: Weezy, Weezy F Baby, Lil Weezy, Wizzle, Young
Wayne, Baby Jr, Birdman Jr, Young Tune/Tuneche, Best Rapper
Alive, Rapper Eater, Mr. Carter, President Carter & Dr. Carter

Unquestionably Cash Money/Universal
Motown Records recording artist, Lil Wayne
will go down in history as the best rapper of his
generation. Indeed he may go down as one of
the best artists in hip-hop period. One look at
Lil Wayne’s impeccable track record will
convince even the most ardent skeptic that the
New Orleans born lyricist is a strong contender
for the crown of “Greatest of All Times.”
In the span of his 13-year career, Lil Wayne has
sold almost nine million units, including his magnum opus, The Carter II (2005) which sold over 2.5
million units and Tha Carter III (2008) which sold over 2.8 million units and earned him various
accolades, including eight Grammy Awards nominations. He has had two number one singles on the
Billboard Hot 100 ("Lollipop" featuring Static Major and "Down" with Jay Sean). He will release a
rock album titled Rebirth in 2010.
In the past two years, Lil Wayne has recorded well over
1,000 songs and freestyles. According to MTV, Lil Wayne
has released more music in the last three years than the
legendary Tupac Shakur.
GQ Magazine named Lil Wayne as its “Man Of The Year”
for 2007. Rolling Stone Magazine tagged him as “Best MC
of 2008” while Blender Magazine (2008) named him the
“Best Rock Star Alive.” So it should come as no surprise that
his latest solo outing finds the hip-hop super star at the top of
his game. With Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne proves to the world
why he is indeed considered “the best rapper alive” and one
of the great recording artists of his generation.

DRAKE
YOUNG MONEY ALL STAR

By any modern measure of musical popularity —
YouTube views, radio airplay, ring-tone ubiquity
— the single “Best I Ever Had” by Toronto
rapper Drake is not only a hit, it’s arguably
2009’s “Song of the Summer.” Since debuting
on iTunes last month, the hip-hop lust track has
sold 600,000 digital downloads and topped
three separate pop charts. Even if you can’t
summon to mind its rap-sung vocals or brassy
syncopated beat, you’ve probably heard “Best I
Ever Had” blaring out of a convertible somewhere.
Less than a year ago, Drake was basically a zero in the music world, unsigned
and virtually unknown as a rhyme-sayer. But thanks to some out-of-the-box
branding efforts by several of the best-connected marketing executives in the
urban world and the institutional backing of his mentor, rap superstar Lil
Wayne, Drake landed two songs in the Top 10 this month — “Best I Ever Had”
as a solo artist and “Every Girl” as part of the rap group Young Money. He had
already amassed a devoted fan base before he’d even landed a record deal.

According to the New York Times, Lil’ Wayne is
Highest Grossing Artist of 2009
1. LIL WAYNE, “Tha Carter III” (Cash Money/Universal Motown); 2.87 million units
2. COLDPLAY, “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends” (Capitol); 2.14 million units
3. TAYLOR SWIFT, “Fearless” (Big Machine); 2.11 million units
4. KID ROCK, “Rock N Roll Jesus” (Atlantic); 2.02 million units
5. AC/DC, “Black Ice” (Columbia); 1.92 million units
6. TAYLOR SWIFT, “Taylor Swift” (Big Machine); 1.6 million units
7. METALLICA, “Death Magnetic” (Warner Brothers); 1.57 million units
8. T. I., “Paper Trail” (Grand Hustle/Atlantic); 1.52 million units
9. JACK JOHNSON, “Sleep Through the Static” (Brushfire/Universal); 1.49 million units
10. BEYONCé, “I Am ... Sasha Fierce” (Music World/Columbia); 1.46 million units

The ‘Lil Wayne Farewell Tour
San Diego California
January 29, 2010

Lil Wayne & Beyonce Land On Top 50 Highest
Grossing Tours Of 2009 List
Pollstar recently released their annual Top 50 Tour of North America where they calculate the top tour
earners of the year based on gross ticket sales. Lil Wayne comes in at #26 grossing over $32 million in
ticket sales and is the top earning urban artist for the year. Lil Wayne's 2008-2009 North American
touring had the highest grossing hip-hop tour of the year -- and the most lucrative rap jaunt that
Billboard has ever tracked! By comparison, Beyonce was #34 earning $26.4 million. A total of
Seventy-eight Lil Wayne headlining arena and amphitheater concerts in North America from Dec. 14,
2008, through Sept. 6, 2009, grossed approximately $42 million and drew nearly 804,000 fans,
according to Lil Wayne tour producer and tour business manager Shawn Gee, who also serves as
president of music and entertainment at Sports & Entertainment Financial Group.
With this being the Final Farewell concert for the Rap
and Rock Megastar before he turns himself in before his
scheduled 12 month hiatus from the public eye, this
concert is guaranteed to draw a large crowd throughout
Southern California. Add the fact that Lil Wayne and the
Young Money All Stars have never ventured into the San
Diego Area prior to this event, and the concert is destined
to be explosive!
With Marketing and Media giant Clear Chanel behind
the helm of the marketing campaign targeting all FIVE
Major Southern California Counties and an exclusive
contract between Ticketmaster and the highest profile
venue in the region at San Diego Sports Arena to
promote ticket sales, this concert is prepped to follow suit
with many other Young Money concerts and sell out
within the first 24 hours.
Never before have so many A-List Hip-Hop Artists
appeared on the San Diego Stage as this. With this being
the LAST Concert for Lil’ Wayne for at least the next 12
months, the Southwest United States is hungry for Wayne’s fond farewell as he prepares to give back
one last time while still at the peak of his career. This Farewell Concert is poised to take FULL
advantage of the San Diego Sports Arena’s 15,000 seats!

Please note that these figures are being held to extremely conservative figures in order to present a
“worst case scenario”. We’ve personally attended Lil Wayne concerts twice during the last concert
season and have paid significantly more than the projected ticket prices. At one event this year, we
paid approximately $750 per ticket and at yet another, tickets were purchased for $500. However, both
times were to purchase premium floor seats.
