YS Jaganmohan Reddy was first elected to the Lok Sabha from the Andhra Pradesh
parliamentary seat of Kadapa in 2009; and operated Sakshi, a news outlet and newspaper.
Departed the Congress Party to find the YSR Congress in March 2011 after resigning as an MP on
November 29, 2010. Defeated his rivals in the Kadapa parliamentary constituency by almost 5
lakh votes. Praja Sankalp Yatra was the name of the 2017 Andhra Pradesh padayatra that he led
as the head of the opposition and President of the YSR Congress Party. He visited 125 assembly
constituencies throughout the course of this 430-day padyatra, covering a distance of almost 3000
kilometers. ‘Ravali Jagan, Kavali Jagan’ became the tagline for this padyatra. After the YSR
Congress won an overwhelming majority in the 2019 assembly elections, Jagan Mohan was
appointed Andhra Pradesh's chief minister.

The Election Commission states that his total assets for the year 2019 were Rs 510 crore. In
addition to being one of India’s wealthiest politicians, Jaganmohan Reddy is involved in a variety
