Introduction An IR sensor-based counting machine using a conveyor belt emphasize infrared sensors to detect the presence of objects on the conveyor belt. As objects pass by, interruptions in the infrared beams trigger the sensors, allowing the system to count the objects. This setup is commonly used in industries for automated counting and sorting processes. The conveyor belt facilitates the smooth movement of items one after the other, and the ir sensors ensure accurate counting by detecting each passing object through conveyor belt. The counted data can be integrated into a control system for further analysis or automation. The count of data is displayed on lcd(liquid crystal disp lay)

objectives Conventionally , counting objects takes a lot of time by an individual and non-conventionally our project reduces the time factor by automating the process. Also, it reduces the work of labour . It also minimize the cost. Manually,80% of work is done from waste material and 20% is through electronic compenents .

components Arduino-UNO I2C-Module LCD(liquid crystal display) Buzzer IR-Sensor Jumpers Wires Motor Conveyor Belt

Arduino-UNO The Arduino-uno is a microcontroller board that utilizes the atmega328p microcontroller chip. It provides a set of 14 digital i /o pins. The USB interface is used for both programming and power supply. Arduino uno is used for prototyping and creating electronic projects. Using Arduino-uno it is easy to develop the project without external programmer. I2C-Module I2C stands for inter- integrated circuit It is a communication protocol enables communication between microcontrollers and peripheral devices. It has master- slave architecture with unique addresses for each device It is bidirectional data transfer .

LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) LCD is a flat-panel display technology that operates on the principle of liquid crystal modulation of light. It has liquid crystals sandwiched between layers of glass or plastic to produce images. It is used to observe the counts of objects on a screen. Buzzer A buzzer is an electronic device that produces sound when an electrical signal is applied. It includes electromagnet and diaphragm. When electric current flows through the electromagnet it causes the diaphragm to vibrate generating sound ways. It is used in alarms, timers etc.

IR-Sensor Ir -sensor stands for infrared sensor. It works on principle of detecting infrared radiation emitted or reflected by objects. It consist of transmitter(white) and receiver(black). It is used for checking counting theand presence or absence of object. Jumper wires Jumper wires are electrical cables with connectors at each end. Types:1) male to male jumper wires - pins at both end. 2)male to female jumper wires - one end has pins and other end has receptacles. 3)female to female jumper wires - receptacles at both end.

Motor Dc MOTOR stands for direct current motors. It consist of stator(stationary part) and rotor(rotating part). It flows in one direction. 12 v dc motor rotates at 200rpm . Conveyor Belt It consist of continuous loop of material that rotates around pulleys. It is used to transportation of goods, material or products from one place to another. The design and materials of conveyor belt vary on the type of good transports and environmental condition.

WORKING PRINCIPLE IR- sensor based counting machine using conveyor belt works on the principle of interruption and principle of reflectio n. principle of interruption: The IR transmitter emits a beam of infrared light towards the receiver in presence or absence of object. Hence it creates interrupt when object passes through the beam of light. principle of reflection: The IR transmitter emits a beam of infrared light towards the conveyor belt, and the receiver detects the reflected light in the presence of object.

CONCLUSION In conclusion, an IR sensor-based counting machine for conveyor belts operates on the principles of interruption or reflection of infrared light. By strategically placing ir transmitters and receivers, the system detects the presence of objects on the conveyor belt. Whether through interruption or changes in reflection, these variations in light patterns are translated into countable events. Integrated with a microcontroller or counter unit, the system provides an accurate and real-time count of objects as they move along the conveyor belt. This technology finds wide applications in industries for inventory management, quality control, and process automation.
