What is Accreditation Process : to create a set of Qualifications and Educational Standards   Tool: to monitor, assess and evaluate the standards and quality of the education 4

What is Accreditation.... is earned through an accrediting authority NACTVET ; on account of having programmes and a quality assurance system that ensures provision of set qualification(s) and educational standard(s) for a particular period of time 5

Purpose of Accreditation to create a set of standards for all technical institutions to be held to; to encourage institutions to develop and be the best they can be: Accountability of Institutions Boost Public Trust and Confidence . 6

Benefits of Accreditation Employers/students are assured of quality education because the proper vetting has already taken place: Accreditation is the BIGGEST FACTOR in making a choice of an Institution or Proramme ; Acceptance of academic credits and degrees/Diploma Certificates in the region and international; 7

Benefits…. Students can qualify for grants or loans; Employers values degrees/certificates from accredited institutions the most; Accreditation pushes college to continually improve 8

Loss of Accreditation Although accreditation is a comprehensive process, it is not a one-shot deal; To stay accredited, colleges need to always be at their best and keep their standards high over time , contrary and pursuant to the NACTVET Accreditation and Recognition Regulations, 2001, the Council shall cancel the accreditation certificate. 9
