Task Title: "Fit Dance Challenge: Moving with HRF and FITT!"
Objective: Students will choreograph and perform a 3–5 minute dance routine that incorporates movements targeting the Health-Related Fitness (HRF) components, and applies the FITT Principle (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type).
Learning Competencies: Demonstrate understanding of the HRF components and FITT principle. Apply dance as a tool for improving personal fitness. Develop a creative routine that reflects physical coordination, rhythm, and body awareness.
Task Description: Create a dance fitness routine (3–5 minutes) to a music of your choice (school-appropriate).
Task Description: 2. The dance must include movements that reflect the HRF components : Cardiovascular Endurance: nonstop movement, jumping, traveling steps. Muscular Strength & Endurance: squats, lunges, planks, arm gestures with resistance. Flexibility: stretching movements, flowing transitions.
Task Description: 3. Apply the FITT Principle in your planning: Frequency – How often should it be done in a week? Intensity – Level of difficulty (low, moderate, vigorous)? Time – Duration of the dance (3–5 mins)? Type – Type of dance (Zumba, Hip-hop, Folk, Contemporary)?
Task Description: 4. Prepare a short written explanation (1 page max) of how your routine targets each HRF component and follows the FITT principle.
