Coaching is a form of development in which an experienced person, called a coach , supports a learner in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance.
What is Sports Coaching? Sports coaching can be defined as the process of motivating, guiding and training an individual in preparation for any sporting , hobby, career, or event. Most professional sports people have coaches to help them, train and compete. It’s a common misconception that only elite athletes can benefit from the guidance of a sports coach.
Sports Coaching Sports plays an important role in our life. Some people participate in sports simply for fun, while others view it as a fundamental part of their lives and strive constantly to do better. Whatever, your motivations for taking part in sports, a coach can help you to not only motivate but can also maximize your level of enjoyment in whichever activity you choose.
Sports Coaching To achieve great things in sports, we do not have to put our bodies and mind through extensive training programmes, either. The most important aspect of improving sports performance is to strive everyday to be fitter, faster, stronger and sharper then we were the day before.
Coaching Process The coaching process is complex but has been broken down to a simple cycle of planning, delivering and analyzing. According to miles (2003), the coaching process is a continuous succession of observation, analysis, goal setting, planning, evaluation and action planning for next cycle.
