What can you do to keep stress, emotions and attitude from affecting driving? recognize your frame of mind. If highly emotional, agitated or stressed out, don't drive. Talk out the situation. Let someone else drive. If you must drive, sit in your vehicle for a while before you start out. Take deep breaths and calm down. Once on the road, keep your speed down and add a second or two between you and the vehicle ahead of you. If you can, avoid driving in congested areas - aggravation.
