Learning Outcomes: At the end of this lesson, the student should be able to: explain freedom as an essential characteristics of ethics; explain the moral dimension; and identify other basic foundation of morality.

Why do we need to have a foundation when it comes to ethics?

FOUNDATION the lowest load-bearing part of a building, typically below ground level. the solid base or structure upon which a building or other construction rests, providing stability and support.

FREEDOM power or right to act, speak or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. not absolute. unlimited freedom will ruin our society

Share one experience in your life wherein you sacrifice your freedom and happiness just for the benefit and betterment of others like your friends, family, etc. What are your realization this experience? Do you find sacrificing your freedom worth it this time? Why?

MORAL ACTS Moral acts are determined by their object, Object of moral act is what an acting person wants of chooses to do.

Moral Dimension of Freedom The moral dimension belongs to the realm of human freedom.

Moral Dimension of Freedom 2. The moral dimension refers to the concern for a good and happy life.

Moral Dimension of Freedom 3. The moral dimension speaks to our sense of moral responsibility.

ACTIVITY Why do we need to limit our actions sometimes in making some major decisions in our lives? Do you find it helpful in making arriving a good decision? Why?
