GENDERS Gender is a term used to differentiate between male and female nouns. The 4 types of gender nouns are: Masculine gender nouns Feminine gender nouns Common gender nouns Neuter gender nouns.
SINGULAR & PLURAL NOUNS SINGULAR NOUN: A noun that names only one person, place, animal or thing is called a singular noun. Example: book, table, toy, car. PLURAL NOUN: A noun that names more than one person, place, animal or thing is called a plural noun. Example: books, tables, toys, cars.
WORDS & SENTENCES WORD: A group of letters that has meaning is called a word. Example: X Idlhc Child SENTENCES: A group of words that are used to express a thought and that makes sense is called a sentence. Example: X Table a cat under is the. A cat is under the table.
PARTS OF SPEECH A group of words make a sentence. All these words have different functions. According to their functions they are categorized under 8 headings.

A noun is a word that names something: either a person, place, animal or thing . TYPES OF NOUNS: Common noun Proper noun Collective noun Countable noun Uncountable noun NOUNS
PRONOUNS A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a noun. Example: Meera is a clever girl. Meera works hard. Meera is a clever girl. She works hard.
VERB Verbs are action words or doing words which show action. Example: Fighting, cooking, eating, swimming, jumping.
ADJECTIVE Adjectives are describing words.They are words used to add something to the meaning of a noun. Example: Beautiful girl, black horse, blue bird.
ADVERB An adverb is a word which adds to the meaning of a verb. Types of adverb are: Adverbs of place. Adverbs of manner. Adverbs of time.
PREPOSITION Preposition is a word that shows the relationship between a noun and other words in a sentence. It is always followed by a noun. Example: The man is under the tree. The cat is on the table.
CONJUNCTION A conjunction is a word which is used to join words or sentences together. Example: Ram and Raj are friends. I did not eat much because I wasn’t hungry.
INTERJECTION Interjections are the words which are used to express sudden feelings. An interjection is always followed by an exclamatory mark (!). Example: Hurray! I won the competition. Wow! What a beautiful scenery.
