Lion Comprehension Worksheet
Comprehension Passage:
Lions are one of the most powerful and majestic animals in the wild. Known as the 'king of
the jungle,' lions are strong, fast, and fierce. They live in groups called prides, which
usually consist of a few adult males, several females, and their cubs. Lions are carnivores,
which means they eat meat, mostly hunting zebras, antelopes, and other animals.
A lion’s roar can be heard from miles away, signaling their presence to others in the area.
The lion's mane, which only males have, makes them look larger and more intimidating.
Lions spend most of their time resting, sometimes up to 20 hours a day. They typically
hunt at night when it’s cooler.
While lions are found in Africa, a small population of Asiatic lions live in the Gir Forest of
India. Sadly, lions are endangered due to habitat loss and illegal hunting, but conservation
