A STUDY ON EMPLOYEES JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT SRI AMMAN MINES., MANJAKKALPATTY.
CHAPTER – I INTRODUCTION 1.1 ABOUT THE STUDY 1.2 COMPANY PROFILE 1.3 INDUSTRY PROFILE
1.1 ABOUT THE STUDY Mining will play a crucial role in its development. The government has been pushing money in the infrastructure sector which augurs well for the metal companies, leading to higher demand for mineral ores and fuels . The Mines has got a fully equipped machine shop capable of doing all. Necessary machine job required for the factory. Here using all the equipments are been licensed
1.2 COMPANY PROFILE Sri Amman Mines was promoted by S.Thamaraiselvi . M ines has been started on 10 th May 1991. M ine is the Commercial Production for Limestone, Bathroom washing powder, Kolapodi powder.
Mines is located at Manjakkalpatty , Sankagiri ( Tk ), Salem district. Mine is registered to our Government. Annual Turnover for this Mine is15 Crore . Integration of mine site activity with external forces such as environmental restrictions, government regulations, market competition.
DEPARTMENTS : Production Maintenance Stores Electrical Security Time office Quality Control
1.3 INDUSTRY PROFILE The mining industry in India is a major economic activity which contributes significantly to the economy of India . Open-pit mining pills minerals from an open pit in the ground. It is the most common methods used throughout the world for mineral mining . ( GDP) contribution of the mining industry varies from 2.2% to 2.5% only but going by the GDP of the total industrial sector, it contributes around 10% to 11%. Even mining done on small scale contributes 6% to the entire cost of mineral production.
CHAPTER-II REVIEWS OF MINES 2.1 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY 2.2. SCOPE OF THE STUDY 2.3 NEED OF THE STUDY 2.4 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY 2 . 5 METHODOLOGY OF THE STUDY
2.1 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY Infrastructure development to augment limestone and washed limestone production. Leveraging technology to minimize environmental externalities. Cutting edge research and development initiatives. Enhancing exploration to augment resource base. Quality and reliability in customer service.
To study the overall employee roles and responsibilities. To study the balance between the work and home life of the employee. To examine how the roles and responsibilities help to improve the employee quality. To know how the various roles and responsibilities and other benefit help to bring a better situation for the employee.
2.2. SCOPE OF THE STUDY Tendency of diverting limestone to secondary market a premium is greatly reduced, if not fully eliminated. No quota/linkage/sponsorship needed for purchase of limestone. Option for depositing money for registration or EMD on-line.
This study will be helpful to measure the communication system and motivation of employees. This study covers the employees’ roles and responsibilities satisfactory towards environment factors, working time schedule and job satisfaction. This study was conducted in order to analyze the quality of work life among the employees.
2.3 NEED OF THE STUDY This study is needed to analyze the employee satisfaction among the employees in Sri Amman Mines at Manjakkalpatty It is needed to measure an employee’s roles and responsibilities in mines Motivates the employee through their work in mines. To develop the compensation, pension, health , safety & security to the employees.
2.4 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY Few responses were reluctant while answering the question. Converting qualitative data into quantitative data it may often lead to inaccurate result. The individual perspectives appear to be difficult. Some of the respondents are hesitated to tell the truth so that it may result in wrong statistical data.
2.5 METHODOLOGY OF THE STUDY The Methodology of the study is to identify the environmental impacts on the lease areas due to the proposed enhanced mining activity. The study will identify the existing environmental conditions, predict impact and suggest environmental safeguards.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY RESEARCH DESIGN RESEARCH DESIGN SAMPLING METHOD STRUCTURE OF QUESTIONNAIRE SAMPLE SIZE SAMPLING AREA DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS SIMPLE PERCENTAGE ANALYSIS CHI-SQUARE TEST
DATA ANALYSIS RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research methodology is the specific procedures or techniques used to identify select, process and analyze information about a topic. RESEARCH DESIGN Research design is the framework or plan for a study that guides the collection and analysis of the data.
SAMPLING METHOD A convenience sampling method is one of the main types of non-probability sampling methods. SAMPLE SIZE The size of the sample is 150 . SAMPLING AREA Data collected area- MANJAKKALPATTY. PERIOD OF THE STUDY The duration of the study is from MARCH 2023 to JUNE 2023
SOURCES OF DATA Data collection is the term used to describe a process of preparing and collecting data. Primary data : Questionnaire given to 150 respondents. Secondary data: Websites and online, published reports & Review of literature from published articles.
DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS SIMPLE PERCENTAGE ANALYSIS The data that were collected from the respondents by means of questionnaire was edited, validated and subjected to analysis. CHI-SQUARE TEST ANALYSIS The chi-square test a fairly, simple and definitely the most popular of all the other tools, the chi-square test is most widely used non parametric test in statistical work.
SIMPLE PERCENTAGE ANALYSIS NO. OF RESPONDENTS PERCENTAGE = __________________ x100 TOTAL NO. OF RESPONDENTS CHI-SQUARE ANALYSIS
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Mining operations can have significant environmental impacts, and greenhouse gas emissions. Balancing the need for resource extraction with environmental sustainability is a major challenge for the industry . Resource Scarcity and Quality
Resource Scarcity and Quality One of the major challenges facing the mining industry today is that there are fewer high-quality ore deposits left to develop . The tunnels could collapse cutting the workers off . Flooding of the tunnels in the mines . This study will provide advice and strategies for preventing staff burnout and ultimately retaining employees.
CHAPTER – III 3.JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 3.1. ABOUT MINE WORKERS 3.2. JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MINE WORKERS
3.1. ABOUT MINE WORKERS A mine is a person who extracts ore, limestone, chalk, clay, or other minerals from the earth through mining. There are two senses in which the term is used. In its narrowest sense, a miner is someone who works at the rock face; cutting, blasting, or otherwise working and removing the rock.
3.2. JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MINE WORKERS They might work as supervisors, environmental, health, safety managers, mineral salespersons, etc. Mining engineers ensure safe, environmentally sound, and economical extraction of minerals and resources.

Mine laborers typically work for mining companies. This job is physically and mentally demanding since those working at surface operations are exposed to all weather conditions and those working underground experience a dark and damp setting. Mine laborers may be exposed to potential hazards, including chemicals and noises. They may also work near large, moving machinery.
SUGGESTION The mines should maintain a good relationship with employees that help in job roles and responsibilities . The mines should provided career opportunities to the employees at their job .
CONCLUSION By implementing a proactive preventive maintenance program for your maintenance service, mining companies can avoid costly break downs, reduce down time, enhance safety, and maximise operational efficiency . This job is physically and mentally demanding since those working at surface operations are exposed to all weather conditions and those working underground experience.
