Video on MS PowerPoint Your MS PowerPoint needs to have a video recording of you included in order for it to be considered an oral presentation. If you are able to record a video of yourself doing your presentation with a “live” video image plus your audio (spoken explanation of the content on the slide), prepare your MS PowerPoint slides first with the pictures and text on the slides. Prepare your oral (words) that you want to say for each slide. Then open your MS PowerPoint on the slide you want to record on. Follow the steps below How to do a MS PowerPoint Video.
How to do a MS PowerPoint video If your PowerPoint does not have this feature you can record your videos on your computer or your cell phone and then save the videos on your computer. Copy and paste the videos into your presentation (embed)
Some important video points Background - choose a neutral background (against a wall or cupboard door). Eliminate background noise, music, TV, people talking. Be brief in your video recording as file size is very important and audio and video make the file size very large. The maximum file upload size to Moodle is 50MB. This is roughly two minutes of video in total for your presentation. You can speak for two minutes on one of your slides, or break it up into parts of 30 to 40 seconds over 3 to 4 slides. Check your file size when saving your presentation. Click File, then Info and it will appear under Properties: Size. Remember it must be less than 50MB. Put your laptop or cell phone on a table in front of you with your head, shoulders and upper body clearly visible. You might need to do several “takes” before you are happy with the final version for uploading. Have back-up copies of your MS PowerPoint presentation saved in various places of your computer, before you start the process of recording your video and audio presentation to accompany the slides.
