IAI organize an Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET). This entrance exam is conducted for those candidates planning to enroll as student members of IAI. Through the ACET the candidates can get admission into the various programmers in accounts and further to make their career in the field of Actuaries. IAI organize an Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET). This entrance exam is conducted for
those candidates planning to enroll as student members of IAI. Through the ACET the candidates
can get admission into the various programmers in accounts and further to make their career in the
field of Actuaries. ACET entrance exam is conducted for those candidates planning to enroll as
student members of IAI.


Eligibility Criteria
 Age Limit: There is no age limit proposed by the university, but the candidate has to follow
authority norms for the application.

 Attempts: There is no Attempt limit for ACET Examination of a student. Graduate,
Postgraduate, Engineering students, Management students, Chartered and Cost
Accountants, Company Secretaries, degree holders in mathematical and statistical sciences
are also eligible to appear in the examination.

2.  Candidates must clear their 10+2 examination or equivalent qualification with
English as one of the subjects.
 Applicants, who already qualified higher level education and also those working
and having qualifications in mathematical subjects, are also eligible to appear in
the entrance exam.
 Postgraduate, Graduate, Engineering students, chartered, management students
and cost accountants, company secretaries, degree holders in statistical sciences
and mathematical etc, can also apply for the ACET.

3. Application
Go to Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) website (www.actuariesindia.org) and
signup
On filling up the Online Registration Form, you will receive a confirmation mail
at your registered email id giving you the link to proceed further by giving other
details, uploading your photograph and making payment of registration fees by
Debit or Credit Card or Internet Banking
In case you do not receive the confirmation mail, kindly get in touch with IAI

After successful registration, you will be able to download the study material
from your login download tab using the same id and password you had used for
online ACET registration
Kindly take a printout of your ACET Online Registration Form, since you have to
submit it at the time of taking admission with the institute

4. Registration Fee
The registration fee for the entrance exam is Rs.3000/- (three thousand only).
This covers the cost of the Welcome Kit inclusive of one Sample Paper and Online
Exam
The registration fee once paid is neither refundable nor can it be carried forward
for the next ACET

5. ACET 2018 Exam Pattern
All questions in ACET question paper will be MCQ type. Each question will
have one correct answer. CET is a 3 hour, 100 marks online exam which has
70 multiple choice questions with one correct answer for each question. It is
an online, computer based test.
Total number of questions would be 70 questions. Maximum marks you can
get by answering all the questions correctly is 100 marks.
Distribution of questions is among sections:

6. Section-I – Mathematics, Statistics and Data Interpretation will contain 55%
of weightage.
Section-II – English and Logical Reasoning will contain 45% of weightage.
 45 questions – 1 mark each
 20 questions – 2 marks each
 05 questions – 3 marks each.

Syllabus for the ACET exam remains constant; whether you appear for ACET
12 or ACET 13.

Mathematics – Notation and standard functions, Numerical
Methods, Algebra, Differentiation, Integration, Vectors, Matrices.

Statistics – Permutations and combinations, Types of data
(Statistical diagrams, bar chart, histogram, dot plot, stem-and-
leaf,boxplot), Measures of location (mean, median, mode),
Measures of spread (range, interquartile range, standard deviation,
variance, Skewness), Probabilities (basic rules of probabilities),
Advanced probabilities (tree diagrams, conditional probabilities),
Discrete random variables (definitions, probabilities, mean, mode,

questions test the candidate’s knowledge of the primary meanings
of words, secondary shades of meaning, usage, idioms and phrases,
antonyms, related words, etc.), English Usage or Grammar
(Grammar-based questions test the candidate’s ability to spot and
correct grammatical errors. It should generally tests knowledge of
high school level grammar and includes areas like subject-verb
agreement, use of modifiers, parellel construction, redundancy,
phrasal verbs, use of articles, prepositions, etc.), Sentence
Correction, Fill in the blanks, Cloze Passage, Analogies or Reverse
Analogies, Jumbled Paragraph, Meaning-Usage Match, Summary
Questions, Verbal Reasoning (Verbal reasoning questions are
designed to test the candidate’s ability to identify relationships or
patterns within groups of words or sentences.), Facts / Inferences /
Judgements, Reading Comprehension.

10. Vocabulary: Vocabulary questions test the
candidate’s knowledge of the primary meanings of words, secondary shades
of meaning, usage, idioms and phrases, antonyms, related words, etc.



Grammar: Grammar-based questions test the candidate’s ability to spot
and correct grammatical errors. It should generally tests knowledge of high
