PARTS OF SPEECH

NOUN A word used to name aperson , place, things, concept, idea, etc. Examples: dog, student, apple, Mary, Philippines etc.

VERB A word or group of words that describes an action, experience, or state of being Exampels : realize, walk, see, listen, is, are etc.

ADVERB Tells how often, hiw , when, where. It can describe a verb, an adjective or another adverb Examples: loudly, always, never, late, soon, beautifully, etc.

PRONOUN Replaces the name of a person, place, thing or idea in a sentence Examples: his, it wee, they, this, that, them

ADJECTIVE Describes a noun or pronoun Examples: red, tall, fat, short, blue, beautiful, sour, bitter, etc.

PREPOSITION Used before a noun, pronoun or gerund to show place, time direction in the sentence Examples: at, in, on, above, from, around, etc.

CONJUNCTION Joins words or groups of words in a sentence Examples: and, because, yet, therefore, moreover, since, or , so, but, until, etc.

INTERJECTION Expresses strong emotion and often followed by an exclamation Examples: well!, Aha!, Hooray!, Yeah!, Oops!, Whew!, Wow!, etc.

ARTICLE A word placed before a noun to modify the noun Examples: the, an, a, these, this, that, those, etc.
