1. ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY We use adverbs of frequency to talk about how often we do an activity .

2. Expressions Always 100% Usually 90% Often 70% Sometimes 50% Rarelly 30% Hardly ever 30% Ocassionally 30% Never 0%

3. EXAMPLES I always take a shower . I sometimes eat an icecream cone . Vivian never smokes . Robert and Julia often study together . My mom is never out at night . Manuel ocassionally studies for exam .

4. RULES Notice that the structure using Adverbs of Frequency is the following : PRONOUN+ ADVERB OF FREQUENCY+ VERB IN PRESENT TENSE. * Due to this that you use the verb in Present Tense, when you talk about the third person singular HE, SHE, IT You must use the rules of simple present tense, which are: Add “S” “ES” or “IES” depending on the verb . Example : Susy always brushes her teeth 3 times a day .

5. EXCEPTION * There´s an exception in the structure when using the verb to be. You use the structure as follow : PRONOUN+ VERB TO BE+ ADVERB OF FREQUENCY+REST OF THE SENTENCE. Example : I am never hungry after 9:00 pm. Ann is usually at home in the morning .

6. OTHER ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY Every day Every Week Every Month Every Year Once a day / week / month / year Twice a day / week / month / year

7. EXAMPLES My brother comes to visit us twice a month . Lilian is sick once a year . The students are worried every day . My father has a vacation twice a year . * Notice that these adverbs go at the end of the sentences ., but the present tense is still used .
