Dua
ۖ اَّنِم ْلَّبَقَت اَنَّبَر ُليِعاَمْسِإَو ِتْيَبْلا َنِم َدِعاَوَقْلا ُميِهاَرْبِإ ُعَفْرَي ْذِإَو ْلا ُعيِمَّسلا َتنَأ َكَّنِإ ُميِلَع-2:127
("Our Lord, accept [this duty] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”)

ُهَمَّلَعَو َنآْرُقْلا َمَّلَعَت ْنَم ْمُكُرْيَخ
"The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it.“

NarratedAisha:
(thewifeoftheProphet)“W heneverAllah’sApostleintendedtogoonajourney,hewoulddrawlotsamongsthiswi vesandwouldtakewithhimtheoneuponwhomthelotfell.DuringaGhazwaofhis,hedrewlots
amongstusandthelotfelluponme,andIproceededwithhimaf terAllahhaddecreedtheuseoftheveilbywomen.IwascarriedinaHowdah(onthecamel)anddismountedwhilesti llinit.W henAllah’sApostlewas
throughwi thhisGhazwaandreturnedhome,andweapproachedthecityofMedina,Allah’sApostleorderedustoproceedatnight.W hentheorderofsettingoffwasgi ven,Iwalkedti llIwaspastthear mytoanswerthe
callofnature.AfterfinishingIreturned(tothecamp)todepar t(withtheothers)andsuddenlyrealizedthatmynecklaceovermychestwasmissing.So,Ireturnedtolookforitandwasdelayedbecauseofthat.Thepeople
whousedtocarrymeonthecamel,cametomyHowdahandputitonthebackofthecamel,thinki ngthatIwasinit,as,atthatti me,womenwerelightinweight,andthinandlean,anddidnotusetoeatmuch.So,those
peopledidnotfeelthedifferenceintheheavinessoftheHowdahwhileliftingi t,andtheyputitoverthecamel.AtthattimeIwasayounglady.Theysetthecamelmovingandproceededon.Ifoundmynecklaceaf terthe
armyhadgone,andcametotheircamptofindnobody.So,IwenttotheplacewhereIusedtostay,thinkingthattheywoulddiscovermyabsenceandcomebackinmysearch.W hileinthatstate,Ifeltsleepyandslept.
SafwanbinMu’attalAs-SulamiAdh-Dhakwaniwasbehindthear myandreachedmyabodeinthemorni ng.W henhesawasleepingperson,hecametome,andheusedtoseemebeforeveiling.So,IgotupwhenI
heardhimsaying,“Innali l-lah-wainnailaihirajiun(W eareforAllah,andwewillreturntoHi m).”Hemadehiscamelkneeldown.Hegotdownfromhiscamel,andputhislegonthefrontlegsofthecamelandthenIrode
andsatoverit.Saf wansetoutwalking,leadingthecamelbytheropeti llwereachedthearmywhohadhaltedtotakerestatmidday.Thenwhoeverwasmeantfordestruction,fellintodestruction,(somepeopleaccused
mefalsely)andtheleaderofthefalseaccuserswas`AbdullahbinUbaibinSalul.AfterthatwereturnedtoMedina,andIbecameillforonemonthwhilethepeoplewer espr eadingthef orgedstatementsofthefalse
accusers.IwasfeelingduringmyailmentasifIwerenotrecei vingtheusualkindnessfromtheProphetwhichIusedtoreceivefromhimwhenIgotsick.Buthewouldcome,greetandsay,‘Howisthat(girl)?’Ididnot
knowanythingofwhatwasgoingontillIrecoveredfrommyailmentandwentoutwi thUmMistahtotheManasiwhereweusedtoanswerthecallofnature,andweusednottogotoanswerthecallofnatureexceptfro m
nighttonightandthatwasbeforewehadlavatoriesneartoourhouses.Andthishabitofourswassimi lartothehabitoftheold‘Arabsintheopencountry(orawayfromhouses).So.IandUmMistahbintRuhmwentout
walking.UmMistahstumbledbecauseofherlongdr essandonthatshesaid,‘LetMistahberuined.’Isaid,‘Youaresayingabadwor d.W hyareyouabusingamanwhotookpartin(thebattleof)Badr?’Shesaid,‘O
Hanata(youthere)didn’tyouhearwhattheysaid?’Thenshetoldmetherumorsofthefalseaccusers.Mysicknesswasaggravated,andwhenIretur nedhome,Allah’sApostlecametome,andaf tergreetinghesaid,
‘Howisthat(girl)?’Irequestedhimtoallowmetogotomyparents.Iwantedthentobesur eofthenewsthroughthem.Allah’sApostleallowedme,andIwenttomyparentsandaskedmymother,‘W hatarethepeople
talkingabout?’Shesaid,‘Omydaughter!Don’tworrymuchaboutthismatter.ByAllah,neveristhereacharmingwomanlovedbyherhusbandwhohasotherwives,butthewomenwouldforgefalsenewsabouther.’I
said,‘GlorifiedbeAllah!Arethepeoplereallytakingofthismatter?’ThatnightIkeptonweepingandcouldnotsleeptillmorning.Inthemor ningAllah’sApostlecalled`AlibinAbuTalibandUsamabinZaidwhenhesa w
theDi vineInspirationdelayed,toconsulthemaboutdi vorcinghiswife(i.e.`Aisha).UsamabinZaidsaidwhatheknewofthegoodreputationofhiswi vesandadded,‘OAllah’sApostle!Keepyourwife,for,byAllah,we
knownothingaboutherbutgood.’`AlibinAbuTalibsaid,‘OAllah’sApostle!Allahhasnoti mposedrestrictionsonyou,andtherearemanywomenotherthanshe,yetyoumayaskthewoman-ser vantwhowilltellyouthe
truth.’OnthatAllah’sApostlecalledBurairaandsaid,‘OBurair.Didyoueverseeany thingwhichrousedyoursuspicionsabouther?’Burairasaid,‘No,byAllahW hohassentyouwiththeTr uth,Ihaveneverseeninher
anythingfaultyexceptthatsheisagirlofimmatureage,whosometimessleepsandleavesthedoughforthegoatstoeat.’OnthatdayAllah’sApostleascendedthepulpi tandrequestedthatsomebodysupporthi min
punishi ng`AbdullahbinUbaibinSalul.Allah’sApostlesaid,‘W howillsupportmetopunishthatperson(`AbdullahbinUbaibinSalul)whohashur tmebyslanderingthereputationofmyfamily?ByAllah,Iknownothing
aboutmyfami lybutgood,andtheyhaveaccusedapersonaboutwhomIknownothingexceptgood,andheneverenteredmyhouseexceptinmycompany.’Sa`dbinMu`adhgotupandsaid,‘OAllah’sApostle!byAllah,
Iwillrelieveyoufromhim.IfthatmanisfromthetribeoftheAus,thenwewillchophisheadoff,andifheisfromourbrothers,theKhazr aj,thenorderus,andwewillfulfillyourorder.’OnthatSa`dbin‘Ubada,thechiefof
theKhazrajandbeforethisincident,hehadbeenapiousman,gotup,moti vatedbyhiszealforhistribeandsaid,‘ByAllah,youhavetoldalie;youcannotkillhi m,andyouwi llneverbeabletokillhi m.’OnthatUsaidbin
Al-Hadirgotupandsaid(toSa`dbin‘Ubada),‘ByAllah!youarealiar.ByAllah,wewi llkillhi m;andyouar eahypocrite,defendingthehypocrites.’OnthisthetwotribesofAusandKhazrajgotexcitedandwereaboutto
fighteachother,whileAllah’sApostlewasstandingonthepulpi t.Hegotdownandquietedthemtilltheybecamesilentandhekeptquiet.OnthatdayIkeptonweepingsomuchsothatneitherdidmytearsstop,norcould
Isleep.InthemorningmyparentswerewithmeandIhadweptfortwonightsandaday,tillIthoughtmyliverwouldburstfromweeping.W hiletheyweresittingwithmeandIwasweeping,anAnsariwomanaskedmy
per missiontoenter,andIallowedhertocomein.Shesatdownandstartedweepingwithme.W hilewewereinthisstate,Allah’sApostlecameandsatdownandhehadneversatwithmesincethedaytheyforgedthe
accusation.Norevelati onregardingmycasecametohimforamonth.HerecitedTashah-hud(i.e.NonehastherighttobeworshippedbutAllahandMuhammadisHisApostle)andthensaid,‘O`Aisha!Ihavebeen
informedsuch-and-suchaboutyou;ifyouareinnocent,thenAllahwillsoonrevealyourinnocence,andifyouhavecommittedasin,thenrepenttoAllahandaskHimtoforgi veyou,forwhenapersonconfesseshissin
andasksAllahforforgi veness,Allahacceptshisrepentance.’W henAllah’sApostlefinishedhisspeechmytearsceasedcompletelyandther eremainednotevenasingledr opofit.IrequestedmyfathertoreplytoAllah’s
Apostleonmybehalf.Myfathersaid,ByAllah,IdonotknowwhattosaytoAllah’sApostle.’Isaidtomymother,‘TalktoAllah’sApostleonmybehalf.’Shesaid,‘ByAllah,IdonotknowwhattosaytoAllah’sApostle.I
wasayounggirlanddidnothavemuchknowledgeoftheQur’an.Isaid.‘Iknow,byAllah,thatyouhavelistenedtowhatpeoplearesayingandthathasbeenplantedinyourmindsandyouhavetakenitasatruth.Now,if
ItoldyouthatIaminnocentandAllahknowsthatIaminnocent,youwouldnotbelievemeandifIconfessedtoyoufalselythatIamguilty,andAllahknowsthatIaminnocentyouwouldbelieveme.ByAllah,Idon’t
comparemysituationwi thyouexcepttothesi tuationofJoseph’sfather(i.e.Jacob)whosaid,‘So(forme)patienceismostfittingagai nstthatwhichyouasser tanditisAllah(Alone)whosehelpcanbesought.’ThenI
turnedtotheothersideofmybedhopingthatAllahwouldprovemyinnocence.ByAllahIneverthoughtthatAllahwouldrevealDi vineI nspirationinmycase,asIconsideredmyselftooinferiortobetalkedofintheHoly
Qur’an.IhadhopedthatAllah’sApostlemighthaveadreaminwhichAllahwouldprovemyinnocence.ByAllah,Allah’sApostlehadnotgotupandnobodyhadlef tthehousebeforetheDi vineInspirationcametoAllah’s
Apostle.So,thereovertookhi mthesamestatewhichusedtoovertakehi m,(whenheusedtohave,onbeinginspireddi vinely).Hewassweatingsomuchsothatthedropsofthesweatweredr oppinglikepearlsthoughit
wasa(cold)wintryday.W henthatstateofAllah’sApostlewasover,hewassmi lingandthefirstwordhesaid,`Aisha!ThankAllah,forAllahhasdeclaredyourinnocence.’MymothertoldmetogotoAllah’sApostle.I
replied,‘ByAllahIwillnotgotohi mandwillnotthankbutAllah.’SoAllahrevealed:“Verily!Theywhospreadtheslanderareagangamongyou...”(24.11)WhenAllahgavethedeclar ationofmyInnocence,AbuBakr,
whousedtoprovideforMistahbinUthathaforhewashisrelati ve,said,‘ByAllah,IwillneverprovideMistahwithanythingbecauseofwhathesaidaboutAisha.’ButAllahlaterrevealed:—“Andletnotthosewhoar e
goodandwealthyamongyouswearnottohelptheirkinsmen,thoseinneedandthosewholefttheirhomesinAllah’sCause.Letthemforgiveandover look.DoyounotwishthatAllahshouldforgiveyou?Verily!Allahis
Oft-forgi ving,MostMerciful.”(24.22)AfterthatAbuBakrsaid,‘Yes!ByAllah!IlikethatAllahshouldforgiveme,’andresumedhelpingMistahwhomheusedtohelpbefore.Allah’sApostlealsoaskedZainabbintJahsh
(i.e.theProphet’swifeaboutmesaying,‘W hatdoyouknowandwhatdidyousee?’Shereplied,‘OAllah’sApostle!IrefraintoclaimhearingorseeingwhatIhavenotheardorseen.ByAllah,Iknownothingexcept
goodnessaboutAisha.”Aishafurtheradded“Zainabwascompetingwithme(inherbeautyandtheProphet’slove),yetAllahprotectedher(frombeingmalicious),forshehadpiety.”
