Anticipated Challenges Part 4
This is too complex for our students They can barely put a sentence together, let alone properly cite a source These specific formatting rules are too detailed for students who are still getting a grasp of academic English Lack of immediate relevance They won’t need to use APA until uni or even grad school Plagiarism awareness is more important Anticipated Challenges Students can just use citation generators, we don’t need to get into the weeds of APA formatting Focus should be on writing fluency Students should be able to express ideas in English before tackling citation rules Grading citations is difficult One-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work I don’t have enough time to teach this
