Bertakwalah kamu kepada Allah dan ucapkanlah perkataan yang benar . Niscaya Allah akan memperbaiki amal-amalmu dan mengampuni dosa-dosamu . DESCRIPTIVE TEXT Definition : Descriptive text is a text which describe what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing. Teks deskriptif adalah teks yang menggambarkan seperti apa seseorang atau sesuatu. Tujuannya adalah untuk menggambarkan dan mengungkapkan orang, tempat, atau benda tertentu.
Structure Text (Generic Structure) Descriptive text has its own rules in writing, including in the structure or composition of which must be written in order. The Generic Structure of Descriptive Text consists of Identification and Description. 1 ) Identification : Identifies phenomenon to be described. 2 ) Description : Describes parts, qualities, characteristics, etc. (Jenny Hammond 'English for Special Purposes', 1992) Identification This section in the first paragraph - the goal is to identify something to be described. Identification serves to introduce the reader about the object or something that we have described before we tell about its properties. Description This section in the second paragraph and so on - contains the properties inherent in something that you already introduced to the reader in the first paragraph.
c. Language Features (Jenny Hammond 'English for Special Purposes', 1992) Descriptive often uses 'be' and 'have'. Tense which is often used is Simple Present Tense. However, some times it uses Past tense if the thing to be described doesn't exist anymore. Significant Grammatical Features: Focus on specific participants Example : My English teacher, Andini's cat, My favourite place Use of Simple Present Tense. Use of Simple Past Tense if Extinct. Verbs of being and having 'Relational Processes'. Example : My mum is really cool, She has long black hair Use of descriptive adjectives Example : Strong hands, black hair Use of detailed Noun Phrase to give information about the subject. Example : a very beautiful scenery, a sweet young lady, very thick fur Use of action verbs 'Material Processes' Example : A cow eats grass, Cheetah runs fast Use of adverbials to give additional information about behaviour Example : fast, at tree house Use of Figurative language Example : John is as white as chalk.

The Colosseum The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre (Latin: Amphitheatrum Flavium ; and Italian: Anfiteatro Flavio or Colosseo ), is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome. Built of concrete and stone, it is the biggest amphitheatre ever and is considered as one of the greatest works of architecture and engineering. The Colosseum is located just east of the Roman Forum. Construction of this building began under the Vespasian emperor in 72 AD, and was finished in 80 AD under his descendants and heir Titus. Further renovations were made during the reign of Domitian (81–96 ). These three emperors which are known as the Flavian dynasty , and the amphitheatre was named in Latin because its relation with their family name ( Flavius).

Lembar Kerja Beijing’s Shishahai sports school is a special school for athletes. The sports are gymnastics , table tennis, volley ball, boxing, badminton and martial arts. It has some large training gyms. The school has modern dormitory. All of the students live in the dormitory. It also has a big and pleasant eating hall. The students eat in the cafeteria for free. There are cameras all around the school the monitor the students. Beijing’s Shinhahai sports school has 550 students. The youngest student is only five years old. The eldest students is 16 years old. The students get up at seven in themorning , and practice for half an hour before breakfast. Then they do school work. After lunch, they practice in the gym for three hour. At five o’clock in the afternoon, they shower. Then they eat and do their homework. At eight in the evening, they goto bed. The students go home on Saturday or one night. Parents visit their very young children two times a week
