To compare Rat anatomy to Human anatomy
To study to external structures of the rat
To remove the skin and study the muscular system
of the rat

Dissection Tips:
Use rat dissection guide booklet and colored photo card
to help you identify structures.
No food during lab!
Wear goggles, gloves, and aprons.
Dispose of waste (rat skin) in waste container, not
regular trash!
Store rats in labeled plastic baggie.
Rinse and dry dissection trays & tools at the end of lab.
Leave dissection kits open for air-drying.
Wipe down tables with disinfectant when finished.
Wash your hands!
