An application letter is merely another name for a cover letter, the official business letter often included with a job application and/or resume and sent to a prospective employer. Although application letters are generally considered optional components of applying for a job, more and more frequently, employers are singling out those who actually take the time to write an application letter as their top picks. Here are a few components of a typical, successful application letter:
Professional Style
Application letters are usually, and should always, be in an officer letter style, like block style. These letters should be formatted properly and checked for spelling and grammatical errors.
Salutation
Although many application letters open with a simple "Sir or Madam:", the more successful application letters are addressed personally to the hiring manager (which often takes some research on the part of the job applicant).

Principal, Virgen Milagrosa Special Science High School
Madam:
A man with high regard for your learning institution, and with earnest desire
to serve in capacity, in which the following qualifications were must be
adopted, is applying for a teaching position as an English teacher.
I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education Major
in English at VMUF – College of Education. I also joined various organizations,
in and out of the school that helped to develop my leadership and self –
confidence.
During my placement as pre – service teacher at VMSSHS, I learned and
applied a broad spectrum of teaching strategies and approaches. At an early
age of practicum, I was entrusted, with minimum supervision by my critic
teacher to manage the classroom teaching – learning situations and this prove
my sense of responsibility and adaptability. I also acquired indispensable
skills in managing classroom instruction efficiently and understanding
diverse learning style of students.
Furthermore, I truly believe that we are all lifelong learners. And I would love
the opportunity to share my knowledge, skills and love for learning to the
students of VM Special Science High School. I look forward to discussing with
you soon how my skills and potential can best meet the goals of the school.
