Article 7 Of Indian Constitution According to the Indian Constitution's first clause, anyone who relocated from Indian territory to what is now Pakistan will not be able to enjoy their rights as a citizen of India .
Article 7 Of Indian Constitution A person who has moved from India's territory to the territory now part of Pakistan after March 1, 1947, will not be considered an Indian citizen, regardless of what articles 5 and 6 say. However, nothing in this article will apply to a person who has moved to the territory now part of Pakistan and has since returned to India using a permit for resettlement or permanent return issued by or under the authority of any law. In this case, the person will be considered an Indian citizen for the purposes of clause (b) of article 6.
