ARTICLE VII AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

Section 1: Awards and Recognition

Academic Excellence Awards The award for academic excellence within the quarter is given to learners from grades 7 to 12 who have attained an average of at least 90 and passed all learning areas . Also, it is given at the end of the school year.

Table shows the specific academic excellence award given to learners who meet the following cut-off grades. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD GENERAL AVERAGE With Highest Honor/May Pinakamataas na Karangalan 98–100 With High Honor/May Mataas na Karangalan 95–97 With Honor/May Karangalan 90–94

Leadership Award Candidate should: - have no grade lower than 83% in all subjects - be recommended by the Homeroom Adviser . - showed dynamic leadership in class and in other school activities - be a leader or officer of the class/club have never been involved in any disciplinary case or committed any violation .

Active Involvement and Commitment to School Activities - 40% Manifestation of Ignacian Marian Spirit - 30% Involvement in Community Service - 30% Total: 100%

Service Award Candidate should: - have rendered exemplary service in school , parish or community - have never been involved in any disciplinary case have no grade lower than 82% in CL be recommended by the Homeroom Adviser, Club Moderators, Subject Coordinator, Student Activity Coordinator, Prefect of Discipline, Guidance Counselor and Principal.

School/ Community Service Award Participates actively in the school’s reach-out/ community service programs - 40% Manifest readiness and willingness to help/ serve others - 30% Initiates ways on how to help/ serve others - 30% Total: 100%

Parish Service Award Active membership/ involvement in any parish organization - 50% Maintains good relationship among his/her co-parishioners - 50% Total: 100% Note: The awardee is required to submit a parish recommendation certificate.

Loyalty Award Candidate should: - Be a graduating high school student. - Have studied in HCAI or other RVM school since kindergarten .

Beadle of the Year award Candidate should: - Have no failing grades in any subject . - Be punctual in their attendance - Have participated actively during practices, trainings and meetings . - Have never been involved in any disciplinary case . - Have shown dynamic leadership in class and in other activities . - Be recommended by the Homeroom Adviser and the School Principal

Regularity in recording absences and tardiness - 35% Consistency in reporting/submission of beadle report- 35% Accuracy and neatness of reports - 30% Total: 100%

Perfect Attendance Award Candidate should: - Have no failing grade in any subject . - Be punctual in their attendance. - Have participated actively during practices, trainings and meetings . - Have never been involved in any disciplinary case . - Have shown dynamic leadership in class and in other activities . - Be recommended by the Class Adviser and Principal .

No absent and no late for the entire School Year - Silver Medal No absent and no late for the entire Junior/Senior High School - Gold Medal

Section 2: Awards for Outstanding Performance in Specific Discipline These awards are given to recognize learners in Junior High School and Senior High School who have exhibited exemplary skills and achievement in specific disciplines . These disciplines are Athletics, Arts, Communication Arts, Mathematics and Science , and Social Sciences. These awards also value the learner’s achievement in a specific discipline that has contributed to the school and/or community.

Athlete of the Year This award is given to learners who have shown outstanding skills in athletics through participation and victories in competitions , as well as discipline in training and sportsmanship , conduct and character. The academic rating that will be considered for this award would be the student’s final grade in Physical Education .

Arts (e.g., visual, media, music, or performing arts) This award is given to learners who have consistently demonstrated outstanding skills in the arts and above average creativity and craftsmanship exemplified through contribution to school’s various functions and events . The academic rating that will be considered for this award is the final grade in Music, Arts , or Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions for Senior High School (SHS).

Communication Arts This award is given to learners who have demonstrated proficiency and shown creativity in expressing ideas in any language (Filipino, English, or foreign languages), in written or oral activities in various subjects , and contributed to the school community . The academic rating that will be considered for this award is the student’s final grade in Filipino, English , or foreign language subjects and related learning areas in Senior High School .

Science This award is given to learners who have high academic standing in Science, demonstrated passion for science expressed through an excellent attitude towards science work , shown enthusiasm for science which positively influences other students in class and the wider school community , and displayed inquisitiveness about the environment , how things work , and how natural processes occur. The academic rating that will be considered for this award is the student’s final grade in Science for Grades 7 to 10 , or the average rating for the two core Science subjects in SHS .

Mathematics This award is given to learners who have high academic standing in Mathematics , demonstrated passion for math expressed through an excellent attitude toward math work , and shown enthusiasm for math , which positively impacts other students in class. The academic rating that will be considered for this award is the student’s final grade in Mathematics for Grades 7 to 10 , or the average rating for the core Mathematics subjects in SHS.

Social Sciences This award is given to learners who have high academic standing in social sciences . They have consistently demonstrated the willingness and ability to contribute to and participate in activities that serve the common good . They have used their knowledge, skills , and disposition in history, geography, economics , and other areas of the social sciences to promote the common good and to achieve shared ends for others in the school and/or community above and beyond their personal good .

The academic rating that will be considered for this award is the student’s final grade in Araling Panlipunan for Grades 7 to 10 , or the average rating for the core Social Science subjects Personal Development / Pansariling Kaunlaran and Understanding Culture, Society , and Politics in SHS.

Christian Living Candidate should: - have no grades lower than 90% in conduct from the first to last quarter. - have participated actively in religious activities in the s chool or in the parish . - must be a practicing Catholic .

Manifests faith in God in Discerning and doing His will -25% Manifests love through compassion and respect -25% Practice excellence in all tasks and responsibilities -25% Demonstrates authentic commitment to service -25% Total: 100% 

Section 3: Specific Awards for Senior High School

Award for Work Immersion Award for Work Immersion is specific to Senior High School (SHS) tracks. This award may be given to Grade 12 graduating students who have outstanding performance based on the terms of reference or engagement set by the school and evaluation of the direct supervisor and subject teacher . The awardee/s must have received high efficiency rating for their diligence and consistency in performing their duties and responsibilities throughout the immersion program . Only those learners who have received an outstanding academic rating in the Work Immersion subject (at least 90%) shall be awarded.

Award for Research or Innovation Award for Research or Innovation is specific to the SHS tracks. Grade 12 Graduating students — individuals, pairs, or groups of not more than four members —must have led the planning and execution of a research or innovation to advance the potential applications of technology or research whose findings can be used to drive better efficiency and productivity as well as to improve the lives of the people in the school and/or community.

Section 4: Special Recognition Learners who have represented and/or won in competitions at the district, division, regional, national , or international levels will be recognized . These awardees have demonstrated their exemplary performance in academics, athletics , and the arts , and/or represented the school in DepEd-recognized activities . In addition to the above awards, the schools may give due recognition to learners who have brought honor to the school . The actual certificates, medals, trophies and/or plaques received by the learners from the various activities or competitions shall be used to publicly affirm and acknowledge the contribution of the awardees in giving honor to the school. This will be done during a flag ceremony or in a school-awarding ceremony.

Campus Journalism Award Candidate should: - have no failing grades in any subject . - be punctual in their attendance. - have participated actively during practices, trainings and meetings . - have never been involved in any disciplinary case . - have shown dynamic leadership in class and in other activities . - Be recommended by the School Paper Adviser and the School Principal .  

Writing Ability (relevance, creativity, style and frequency) - 45% Sense of responsibility (initiative, promptness in attending meetings deadlines) - 25% Human Relation (with staff members, the adviser, the administration and the students as a whole) - 20% Position in the campus editorial staff (Editor- 10%, Section Head- 8%, and Staff Member- 6%) - 10% Total: 100%

Section 5: Clubs and Organizational Awards Candidate should: - Have no failing grades in any subject . - Be punctual in their attendance - Have participated actively during practices, trainings and meetings. - Have never been involved in any disciplinary case . - Have shown dynamic leadership in class and in other activities . - Be recommended by the Club Moderator and the School Principal .

Club Award General Average Outstanding 98–100 Very Satisfactory 95–97 Satisfactory 90–94

Section 6: VALUES AWARD The following are the steps to follow in determining the values awardees: The students are given a tool which contains the values indicators and instructions on how they will rate . Students will not rate their selves but their classmate who manifests Ignacian Marian values in their day-to-day interaction . The Homeroom Adviser will also rate students who manifest Ignacian Marian values using the same tool.

The Homeroom Adviser will collect the forms and will get the exact percentage based on the given formula . The Homeroom Adviser will encode the ratings of the students and will get the total average . ( 30% from the students plus 70% from the Homeroom Adviser equals Final Rating). The Final rating should be 90 (Ninety ) in order to be qualified in receiving the Values Award . The Homeroom Adviser will submit the final rating to the Cl-SIC for deliberation.
