OBJECTIVES Guide Questions Enumerate the different aspects of culture. Understand how culture of a certain society can influence changes in another society. What are the aspects of culture? What are the processes that made culture of a society can influence any changes in another society ? How culture and individual behavior related?

Culture  - is fluid rather than static, which means that   culture  changes all the time, every day, in subtle and tangible ways. Culture - is  dynamic as it responds to the changing needs of time, alongside to the motion and actions within and around it. When one aspect changes within a system, culture  easily responds to it. . Culture is shared Culture is a contested site of meaning. B Shared and Contested 1. To be considered a cultural characteristic , a particular belief , value, or practice must be shared by a significant portion of the society. 2. Through socialization, people learn to identify what is important and valued within particular culture. Learning styles are greatly influenced by how a culture socializes with its children and young people. The process by which a child acquires his or her own culture is referred to as enculturation. On the basis of cultural learning, people create, remember, and deal with ideas. C Learned through socialization or enculturation

In sociology, social interaction is a dynamic sequence of social actions between individuals (or groups) who modify their actions and reactions due to actions by their interaction partner(s). Social interactions can be differentiated into accidental, repeated, regular and regulated.

E Integrated and at times unstable Cultural integration is when individuals from one culture adopt practices from another culture without diminishing their own. Cultural meanings are definitely unstable, because throughout history they have changed drastically . The historical period tends to dictate the social and cultural norms.

F Transmitted through socialization A key element of cultural transmission is that it is, in part,  transmitted across   generations , or at the very least, between individuals. These sources of  cultural  information are known as  socialization  ( or socializing) agents.

CULTURE G Requires language and other forms of communication The set of attributes of a culture is expressed through   language .  Language  is also used to point to objects that are unique to a particular  culture . All this means that learning and teaching  another language  is essential for international  communication and cooperation. In other forms of communication For example, you can communicate hunger through making a gesture pointing to your stomach or your mouth, a universal sign . Often people will use this rudimentary sign  language  to speak to others when they need something . Another subtle yet common  form of nonverbal communication is facial expressions.

Look around you in your society at present or you may ask you elders and parents about what do they think the culture that do you have now in your society that were an influence from another society’s culture. Support your discussions with illustrations. DLP Activity/Exercise
