encouraging the use of renewable energy, and guiding visitors
through their essential, active role in the design and execution
of a plan for energy efficient production and use.

Future Energy presupposes an abstraction that assumes the
adoption, implementation and use of the best energy

international community’s sense of responsibility
by way of institutions, organizations,
corporations, and individuals, with the aim of
generating debate and awareness regarding the
decisive impact that energy management has on
the lives of people and that of the planet.

paths that ensure sustainable energy management.
These pathways are aimed at:
• combating climate change and reducing CO2 emissions;
• promoting energy alternatives –renewable energy in
particular –and driving energy efficiency programmes;

• managing energy production, storage and use;
• and guaranteeing universal access to sustainable energy;

18. Dedicating an International Exposition to the theme of
FUTURE ENERGY entails thinking about a topic that
is basic to our existence and critical for safeguarding
and improving our quality of life. This is the case
especially since the more or less conventional energy
sources powering our machines, heating our homes and
lighting our cities are triggering uncertainty and alarm
because of their progressive depletion, their viability
and the serious impact of their use on the planet, our
health and our security.
