Skeletal muscle:
Skeletal muscle is a type of striated muscle,
attached to the skeleton.
Skeletal muscles are used to facilitate movement,
by applying force to bones and joints; via
contraction.
They generally contract voluntarily (via nerve
stimulation), although they can contract
involuntarily.

19. MECHANISMOFACTION
Baclofen, inhibits monosynaptic and polysynaptic
reflexes at the spinal level by hyperpolarization of
afferent terminals.
Baclofen, enhances the activities of the inhibitory
neurotransmitter GABA and Glycin
Baclofen, decreases the release of the excitatory
neurotransmitter Aspartate and Glutamate

21. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Starttherapyfromthelowestpossibledoseand
graduallyincreasetoachieveoptimumresult.
Followingtitrationscheduleissuggested-
05 mg t.i.d. for 3 days
10 mg t.i.d. for 3 days
15 mg t.i.d. for 3 days
20 mg t.i.d. for 3 days
The total dose should not exceed the maximum of
80 mg daily ( 20 mg q.i.d.)
