Ballerina dancing Box Baylasan Al Ghamdi Grade 10 MLKIS

Introduction The Ballerina Dancing Box project is a creative project that brings together basic engineering principles and artistic design. Inspired by traditional music boxes, which feature a rotating dancer when the box opens, this project seeks to create a manual version where a ballerina spins using a simple mechanical mechanism.

Objectives The main objective of the Ballerina Dancing Box project is to design a functional, manually-operated dancing box that features a spinning ballerina. Also, this project aims to encourage creativity and offer a rewarding hands-on experience in both art and engineering.

Materials Small cardboard Ballerina figure Wooden Sticks Decorative materials (stickers, colored paper) Hot glue

Procedure Build the Box Structure Cut out six squares or rectangles from cardboard to create the base box. These will be the top, bottom, front, back, and two side panels. Assemble the box using hot glue 2. Prepare the Ballerina Figure Use paper to create a small ballerina figure. 3. Set Up the Mechanism Cut a hole on one side of the box, near the bottom, and insert a stick through it horizontally. This will act as the lever you turn to make the ballerina spin. Connect the top of the lever arm to the ballerina’s stick using a piece of wire or straw. 4. Decorate the Box and Finishing Touches

Math concept Ratio and Proportion Ratios and proportions are relationships between quantities that can help determine dimensions, speed, and spin duration. Geometry of Rotation Geometry plays a key role in rotational movement, especially in circles and angles. Measurement and Scaling Proper measurements are essential for creating a balanced and proportional automaton.

Physic concept Torque Torque is the rotational force applied by turning the lever. It depends on the force applied. Rotational Motion and Angular Momentum Rotational motion is the movement of an object around a fixed axis.

Conclusion This project is a fun, hands-on way to explore physics and math concepts, and it demonstrates how basic principles can be used in simple machines to create entertaining and interactive designs.
