BINARY NUMBERS CHRISELDA T. BAITAN Subject teacher Technology and Livelihood Education: CSS

After the lesson, the students will be able to: 1. Perform calculations needed to complete task. 2. Determine the number used in the binary system. 3. Appreciate the relevance of binary numbers to computer technology.

What is binary numbers ? Binary is a computer language system. With binary, it became possible to have an exact state which would have small errors. Way back in history, computers made use of an analog to solve problems, but this wasn’t accurate as binary code. With binary code, the chances of committing errors are much, much smaller.

What is binary numbers ? Binary numbers simplify the design of computers and related technologies. Computers need many transistors to accomplish what they must accomplish, but through binary numbers, it became easier and less expensive. It needs less amount of necessary circuitry, which results in the least amount of space, energy consumption, and cost. It also provides reliability and safety.

What is binary numbers ? Computers use binary because they can only read and store an on or off charge. Zero (0) is equivalent to off and one (1) is equivalent to on. Any system that has an “on” or “off” or “high” or “low” state can be used to encode and/or manipulate data.

Let us try to solve this…. Go to the board and try to find out the value or equivalent of binary number into decimal number. The first to get to the board and have the correct answer will receive a prize.

LET’S CODE! Clubhouse coders Each Clubhouse coders represent a binary number. Convert the characters into binary number. Use the bug cards to decipher the code. Each group will be given a cardboard where they write their answers.

Let us try to solve this…. Divide yourselves between male and female. In a group of 10-12 persons per group and be ready to collaborate in solving this problems..

Assignment What are the steps in converting binary numbers to decimal numbers?
