Geography is the study of people and place and how they interact. Geographers look to find connections between the physical processes at work on earth's surface (and under the surface too) and how people use and interact with the earth. From oceans to deserts to cities, what exactly are landscapes and how is each one unique? WHAT IS GEOGRAPHY?
WHAT ARE MAPS? A map is a symbolic representation of selected characteristics of a place, usually drawn on a flat surface. A physical map usually includes labels for features such as mountain ranges and bodies of water. A political world map usually includes labels for features such as cities and major towns, units such as states or provinces, and bodies of water. There are also maps to show the different climates and temperatures in areas around the world.
