6 September 2024 19 Attainment of Course Outcomes, Programme Outcomes and Programme Specific outcomes CO attainment Evaluated based on performance of students in Internal Examination & External examination. Assessments is made on 3 point scales Internal Examination R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering Department of Civil Engineering % of students obtaining more than 60% of marks >=70% >=60%&<70% >=50%&<60% <50% Co attainment level 3 2 1

External Examination Overall CO attainment = 80% of External CO attainment level + 20% of Internal CO attainment level CO attainment of ‘2’ on 3 point scale is considered to be satisfactory PO/PSO attainment: Step1: Course outcomes are assessed through internal examinations and Semester end examination. Step 2: The average of results of CO attainment of all the courses in a semester mapping to a particular PO (by applying a weightage factor of 1.0, 0.8 and 0.6 for COs which are substantially, moderately & slightly correlated respectively, with corresponding POs) gives the direct attainment of PO/PSO and is compared with pre-defined target of PO/PSO. % of students obtaining D grade or more >=70% >=60%&<70% >=50%&<60% <50% Co attainment level 3 2 1 R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering Department of Civil Engineering

Step 3: For indirect assessments, Course exit survey is conducted by circulating a questionnaire to students. The survey is assessed and evaluated on a 3 point scale to determine the strength of attainment level of POs/PSOs. Step 4: Over all PO/PSO attainment is calculated as 80% of direct assessment + 20% of indirect assessment. PO/PSO attainment of ‘2’ on a 3 point scale is considered to be satisfactory % of students expressed attainment of PO/PSO satisfactory & above >=80% >=70 % & < 80% >=60 % & < 70% <60% Co attainment level 3 2 1 R.V.R. & J.C.
