Explanation This is an example for small group technique It provide room for self development of learners and active participation in the teaching learning process These are used in institutions of higher education to facilitate the development of higher cognitive abilities (mental and intellectual, language ability, decision making, problem solving, general reasoning.......) and affective attributes Buzz session is a technique in which a large number of audience is divided in to small groups In this session limited time period for discussion is allowed. In this session each members in group contributes their ideas In this session a set of complicated problems or tasks is given to the students Which need the application of previous knowledge

3. Meaning In buzz session Students are splits in to small groups for specific period of time of discuss agiven topic or issue. Reports the results of the various buzz groups are then presented in the entire class and through discussion is stimulated.In this technique students very motivated and raise their arguments regarding a particular issue

4. Organization of BUZZ session In buzz session large group of students is divided in to small groups for discussion Fixed amount of time is allotted to the students to discuss a problem or task Clear instructions are given so as to make the discussion productive As soon as the group finalize the solution, the representative report it to the teacher This is called buzz because the group buzz like bees while discussing the problem

5. Merits It develops the classroom interaction It gives training in discussion It develops the skills of students In this session teacher becomes an active participant It develops the critical thinking among the students

6. Demerits It is time consuming Difficulty in forming groups Most Of the students lack initiative It is not applicable in lower level class Lack of proper knowledge In the organization of this technique will lead to confusion and hence waste of time
