According to PREVNet (2024), bullying can take in many forms, including:
Physical Bullying : Hitting, kicking, or any form of physical aggression. 2. Verbal Bullying : Name-calling, teasing, or making inappropriate comments. 3. Social Bullying : Spreading rumors, excluding others from a group, or public humiliation. 4. Cyberbullying : Using digital platforms to harass, threaten, or embarrass someone.
Bullying has far-reaching effects on everyone involved: 1.Victims : Experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and academic challenges. In severe cases, it can lead to self-harm or suicidal thoughts. 2.Perpetrators : May develop aggressive behaviors and are at risk for substance abuse and criminal activities later in life. 3.Bystanders : Witnessing bullying can cause feelings of fear, guilt, and helplessness.
Interventions to stop BULLYING Creating a Positive School Climate: Schools should foster an environment of respect and inclusion, where diversity is celebrated, and all students feel safe. Implementing Anti-Bullying Policies: Clear rules and consequences for bullying behavior must be established and communicated to all students and staff.
