Construction of check dams at centre’s farm Gandwa village (Alwar) 18-11-2012 to 21-11-2012

Preparation of check dams Check dam is formed with the help of stones & bamboo as supports. First base of land make leveled from undulated surface .

Used bamboo poles as a supports to stones. Base of Bamboos covered in polythene to protect from termite. About 35-40 cm portion of bamboo planted in the soil.

Big sized stones put at base after making furrow about 12-15 cm deep.

Putting horizontal bamboo to check disturbance in stone arrangement during high intensive rainfall .

And finally….. Length 2.25 m Width 40-50 cm Height 0.90 m

2 nd Check dam Made with help of stone dust filled in sacks and bamboo as support.

Stones put under sacks to protect from termite.

2 m in length, 45-50 cm width, 1.10 m height .

3 rd check dams Before 3 rd check Dam.

3.5 m in length, 2.25m in width, 1.4 m height.

Small check dams Just near the starting point of erosion. To check flow of water.
