5. At the end of the lesson, you should be able to demonstrate understanding that the Holy Spirit gives life to enlighten and guide each child of God; show love and respect to others at all times; praise God for the gift of the Holy Spirit and pray for His guidance always.

6. What are these symbols? What comes into your mind if you see these symbols and images? What is Christmas for you? How do your family celebrate Christmas?

7. If Filipinos were asked their favorite time of the year, their answer would probably be the Christmas season.

8. The provinces become packed, as most people in the cities go home to be together with their families. Streets are illuminated at night and kids roam around singing carols.

9. The roads are dotted by dashing and extravagant belens which attract people’s attention causing them to stop and look at the beautifully created representations of the birth of the Savior.

10. This season, through all our various Christmas traditions, we commemorate one of the most momentous events in history, our Savior’s birth.

12. Watch a story about the Birth of Jesus. (Gospel of Luke 2:1-7)

13. 1.Why did Mary and Joseph go to Bethlehem? 2.Where did Mary and Joseph stay? 3.Where was Jesus born? 4.How do you feel about the birth of Jesus, our Savior?

14. Even though Jesus is the Son of God, and the promised Savior and King, He is born in humble stable in a little town called Bethlehem . This shows God’s humility and being one with us.

15. Christmas is an extraordinary event. It signifies the birth of the savior who is coming (in flesh) to meet people in the world. During Christmas, we remember Jesus’ love for us.

16. Christmas is significant to many people because it serves as a reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to earth to save all people.

17. At Christmas, we share the joy of Christ’s coming with other people. One way of doing this is by giving gifts. We give gifts to our loved ones. A gift given wholeheartedly is a sign of love.

19. As children of God, we must always be loving and caring. Love is the reason of our celebration. We are all brothers and sisters at home, in school and on the playground. In the Church, we are one large family. We share not only presents but most importantly, we share our love and ourselves .

22. Reminders: Performance Task 1.2 – Gift Giving (See Pages 94-95) With the other members of your family, write or draw on a card or paper the gifts you want to give to each other. Think of Christmas gifts other than those that are bought. For example, reading to a younger member of the family, doing chores at home, etc. (at least 5) Put some decorations and a string so you can hang it around your Christmas tree or on your door or wall. Submit it on or before Dec. 12, 2022.
