Process of cne
1) E stablishing goals with the purpose or philosophy Purpose based on the learning needs, so it must be reviewed by time to time and states as appropriate. It provides a structure to the planning of programme. Ask ; What is to be done? What is it necessary? How is to be done? Where is to be done? When is to be done? Who should do the job?
2) Establish goals & objectives The objective must be specific and it is a desired end accomplishment. It help the nurse in identifying and meeting the current learning needs. Helps to identify the influence of societal changes in the practice. Help to promote the leader ship quality. Helps to improve critical thinking.
3) Determine needs & priorities Assessments of needs should be done by survey, through mailed questionnaire, interview etc. After assessing the needs, prioritization of needs to be done.
4) Assess available sources Careful assessment of faculty, facilities and finance are important.
5) Plan the budget Separate budget is required for each specific activity. Budget requires ascertaining all the anticipated costs of the offering. Sometimes budget for program will be sanctioned by government, university grants or fee collected from participants.
6) Selection of resources The resources should be categorized as financial resource, human resource, facilities, equipment, and supplies.
