Codes and Conventions There are many codes and conventions that define a magazine website from thins such as layout to how busy it is. Below are a few of these codes and conventions; House Style How busy the page looks Related ads Links to related publications Articles from the magazines current issue A place to buy or subscribe to the publication
Kent Life Advert for subscriptions Stories from the current issue/ possible web exclusive articles. Masthead Hyperlinks Newsletter sign up for similar products as well
County Life Masthead Featured articles have cover lines/quotes The articles are very regimented and close which allows the reader to see them easier, however, they are flanked by two large adverts which makes the page look very busy and crowded. Hyperlinks The first thing that is seen on the webpage is a subscription advert showing the reader where to buy the magazine.
Time Out London First thing that is seen is an image showing that the magazine is a free publication. Recommended/trending stories on the website Articles are in a list which makes it easier for the reader to navigate the page. Social media icons promote sharing the articles Masthead
Contact Information All three of the example webpages have the contact information of their publication team at the bottom of the page. As well as this there is also a site map that has another set of hyperlinks to all of the other pages on the website.
