Commentary Essay Examples
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Commentary Essay Examples" can pose a unique set of
challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the need for a deep understanding of the subject matter
but also in the ability to provide insightful commentary on the examples presented.
To begin with, one must thoroughly research and analyze various commentary essay examples to
grasp the nuances of effective commentary. This involves delving into the chosen examples,
identifying key elements, and understanding the underlying messages. Additionally, the writer
must be adept at critical thinking to discern the significance of each example and its relevance to
the overall theme.
Expressing one's thoughts in a coherent and articulate manner is another hurdle. The essay
demands a balance between presenting the examples and weaving in thoughtful commentary
seamlessly. It requires a nuanced writing style, where the author not only conveys information
but also engages the reader with well-crafted analyses and interpretations.
Furthermore, structuring the essay poses its own set of challenges. Organizing the content in a
logical flow while maintaining clarity and coherence is crucial. The writer must decide on a clear
introduction, a body that effectively presents examples and commentary, and a conclusion that
ties everything together.
Another aspect to consider is the need for originality. It's essential to avoid simply summarizing
the examples or regurgitating common insights. Instead, the writer must bring a fresh
perspective, offering unique commentary that adds value to the reader's understanding.
In conclusion, tackling a commentary essay on examples is a task that demands a combination of
research, critical thinking, eloquent expression, and original analysis. It is indeed a challenging
endeavor that requires dedication and skill to navigate

Situational And Contingency Theories Of Leadership
Training
Leadership is a subject that has gained substantial attention in pretty much every field.
There have been a number of studies done on leadership, which has resulted in a
number of different theories. Situational and Contingency are two theories that are
most commonly used in leadership training. Both fall under the contingency theory
umbrella and are also commonly used interchangeable and often consider as one
theory. Situational and Contingency theory are identical but they are two very
different methods. This paper explains the concept of Situational and Contingency
leadershiptheories and compares and distinguishes the two theories.
Leadership
There are over 40,000 books/writings and over 10,000 research studies on
leadership (Adair, 2011). Even though there are a numerous amount of studies on
the subject, there is still no real definition of the word. In the past 60 years, as
many as 65 different classification systems have been developed to define the
dimensions of leadership, (Northouse, 2013 p.4). The classifications have broken
down into 4 components: 1) Leadership is a process, 2) Leadership involves
influence, 3) leadership occurs in groups, and 4) leadership involves common goals.
Leadership is a process: means that it is not a trait or characteristic that resides in the
leader, but rather a transactional event that occurs between the leader and the
followers. The process implies that a leader affects and is affected by followers. It
emphasizes that leadership

The Eu And Uk s Trade
WORD COUNT: 1028 words
Assignment 2016в ЂЁ
The EU and UK are undeniably close trade partners seeing as the EU makes for a
large proportion of trade deficit with the UK as of 2014. Nonetheless, strong
economic growth in many non EU emerging economies has resulted in important
trade activity with these non EU countries, eating into proportion accounted for by
EU since 1999, despite the value of EU trade increasing. The sheer growth in UK s
trade volume is reflected in the downward trend in Graphs 1, 2, 3 below.
Considering the total current account balance (Graph 1), UK s trade deficit has been
in decline from 1999 to 2014, with exceptional peaks in 2001, 2006, and 2011. The
same pattern is observed in UK s total trade in goods with the EU (Graph 2). Faster
growth in the UK s terms of trade with the EU deteriorated UK s overall trade
balance with the EU, and significantly widened trade deficits (ONS, 2015). The
inference is the high proportion of UK EU trade is strongly reflected in the current
account balance and hence has huge contributions to UK s trade balance on the
whole. The peaks which can be accounted for by neoliberal policies and weakening
of the sterling (Pimlott, 2009 and Cadman, 2015) were followed by severe worsening
in deficits. This says something about the effectiveness and sustainability of fiscal
and monetary policies to improving terms of trade.
In spite of that, UK s improving balance of total trade in goods with the rest of the
world somewhat cushions

Computer, Robotics, And Automation Are Driving More
And...
Computers, robotics, and automation are driving more and more of production. In
turn this is leading to an enormous impact on the number and type of jobs. An
Australian report released in June 2015 found that 40 per cent of the Australian
workforce or around 5 million jobs are at high risk of being replaced by computers
in the next 10 15 years. This backs up the Oxford Martin School s 2013 study finding
47 per cent of jobs in the United States are at risk of being automated using artificial
intelligence. We need to move urgently from a discussion about protecting the jobs of
today, to creating the jobs of the future.1 3.2 Commercialisation and innovation There
are significant emerging opportunities and challenges for commercialisation and
innovation resulting from technological changes to becoming a more sustainable,
broad based economy: Reducing the tyranny of distance, boosting trade and creating
new business models but also promoting outsourcing of work overseas.
Internationalising labour markets are expanding the skilled labour pool. Developing
commercially functional goods and services from new technologies often takes a lot
longer than expected. Leveraging clean technologies to improve sustainability.
Fostering entrepreneurship and addressing constraints for Kiwi companies.
Addressing slow uptake of new technology due to redundancy risks or ease of
sticking with the status quo and supporting workforce mobility. Managing business
change in a disruptive and

Climate Change Has Changed The World
It is possible to conclude that Climate Change has rapidly picked up in the last few
decades due to fossil fuel emissions caused by humans, creating a warming of the
earth that is melting the glaciers causing sea levels to rise each year. The sea
levels rising have already shown some low level communities living by the ocean
just a preview of what can later be seen in many years to come. With the glaciers
melting away, humans all around the world are losing an astronomical percentage
of fresh water as well, which have been stored in glaciers on the edges of the globe.
With the process already taking place in today s world, the only thing left to do is
to embrace the consequences, and find a way to slow down the process of melting
and save some of the lands that will be soon under oceanic waters, or to adapt to the
new world that we will be seeing in the near future. Throughout its long history, Earth
has warmed and cooled time and again. Climate has changed when the planet
received more or less sunlight due to subtle shifts in its orbit, as the atmosphere or
surface changed, or when the Sun s energy varied. But in the past century, another
force has started to influence Earth s climate: humanity . (Earth observatory)
Humanity has taken a toll on the world we live in. Dispersing an incredible amount
of fossil fuels that has been destroying the world day by day. With the population of
humans greatly increasing, the fuel for humanity had also needed to rise greatly to

The Endangered Species Act, Or Esa For Short
The Endangered Species Act, or ESA for short, became a law in 1973 and is
enforced by the U.S. to protect species from extinction, mainly due to development
for economic growth. The ESA is one of the most popular and effective
environmental laws ever enacted. It is a commitment by humans to work together
to protect and restore those species that are most at risk of extinction.
Unfortunately, the natural systems we depend on are at risk, and plants and
animals worldwide are disappearing. In the United States alone hundreds of plant
and animal species have become extinct since the time of the first settlers. There
two federal agencies that are in charge of the act are the Fish and Wildlife Service
and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. A species is considered
for protection under the ESA when a high portion of the species is likely to
become endangered in a foreseeable time. Overall there are about 2,200 species
that are listed as endangered or threatened under the ESA and of these about 600 are
foreign found species. The main goal of the ESA is to prevent jeopardized animals
and plants from becoming extinct and removing or decreasing any threat to their
survival. It is important to make sure that no species die out so as to not upset the
environmental balance. When we protect all species, we are protecting the entire
habitat, therefore, we are maintaining the safety of our own environment as humans.

Plea Bargaining In Criminal Justice
I did not watch the film, Criminal Justice: Nothing Cuts Deeper, but I thought you
both brought up interesting points about plea bargaining in your analyses. I did not
realize that plea bargains were as common as they are until Crystal pointed out that in
1989, less than 2% took their cases to trial. That is a shockingly low number!
Abraham also pointed out that this means that defendants are waiving important
rights, protected by the Fifth and Sixth Amendments: the right to a jurytrial, the right
against self incrimination, and the right to confront hostile witnesses. As far as I
understand, the foundations of the American criminal justice process are built around
these essential rights! In reality, very few people have faith in and are... Show more

So the trial is meant to achieve either determining guilt and issuing appropriate
punishment for the crime and to prevent innocent people from being punished for a
crime that they did not commit. Stephanos Bibas, a professor of Law and
Criminology argues that everyone trusted that trials remained as safety valves
whenever guilt was in real doubt. The vast majority of defendants are factually and
legally guilty, but surely, we assumed, those who are innocent would persist to
vindicate their names at trial. Unfortunately, because of pressures by the prosecution
and fears of long, harsh sentences, poorly informed, poorly educated, and poorly
represented defendants are far from the fully informed, rational actors. (Bibas, 2016).
This means that some innocent people are taking a plea bargain for fear of greater
punishment, even if they did not actually commit the crime. They have so little faith
in the process of a trial working correctly that they feel it better to agree to a lesser
punishment despite their innocence. Whether their lack of faith in the trial process is
warranted or not, this signifies that there is something fundamentally wrong with the
criminal justice

The path that some people take instead of college is the career path. This mainly

Julius Caesar has been born in Rome, Italy. He has borned in a patrician family,
also he has been a member of the Julian family. Julian family has been one of the
first families in Rome. He has been tall, handsome, agreeable in his manners, and of a
cheerful disposition. Julius Caesar has been a rich noble, he became a friend of the

Roman territory was far flung across the Mediterranean sea in the early first
century B.C., but this territory increases during the central half of the century.
Caesar s first great battles have been in Gaul. The Gauls were brave, but Caesar
has proved to be a great general. In a few years he has conquered all of Gaul. The
Roman soldiers had a great confidence in Caesar. When he led them they believed
victory was certain. He has stricted in his discipline, but very friendly and pleasant
with the men, and he often gave them praise. Caesar has shared in their hardships.
Day after day he marched on foot at their head through heat and rain and snow, and
fought with them in the front ranks. (Shearer 98). One of the Greatest victorious in
Gaul has been the taking of the town of Alesia. This town had very strong walls all
around it, and it has defended by a great army of Gauls have commanded by a
brave chief named Vercingetorix. Caesar has surrounded the town with his army
and has prevented them food from being sent in to the inhabitants. He also has
defended an army that came from the other parts of Rome. In 53 B.C. Crassus has

Italy. Battles have continued between the two in places like: Greece, Italy, and

Taking Risks In Wonder By RJ Palacio
In part six of RJ Palacio s realistic fiction novel Wonder, it shows the theme that new
things are great so you should take risks and live on the edge because you only live
once. One example of the theme is when August is starting to lose his hearing and
has to go to a special doctor. August has always hated the doctors office because it
brings back terrible memories like all 27of his face surgeries. He also thinks that
by getting hearing aids it gives people another reason to make fun of him. Ever
since I was little, the doctors told my parents that someday I would need hearing
aids.I don t know why but this always freaked me out (Palacio 211). Readers can
sense that August is a nervous kid because he has been called some names that a

He also doesn t want to loose his two best friends and is afraid that if he gets and
worse looking they won t want to be friends with him anymore. This quote relates
to the theme because August has to take a risk (which in this case would be his
hearing aids) and if he challenges himself by just wearing it more people be like
oh, what is so bad about him and Auggie by taking one risk could have more
friends. In addition, the next quote is also occurring in the doctor s office. It is
when August puts them on and is crying to his mom that everyone will make fun
of him and that he would loose Summer and Jack. August thinks this because he
already has most people not liking him so when he puts on his hearing aids he
believes that people will call him more names. I can t wear them mom, everyone
will notice (Palacio 212). Readers can realize from this quote that August wants to
be as normal as possible and hearing aids aren t the answer. You are also informed
that August doesn t want to be there because his least favorite body part is his

Mcdonaldization Society
McDonaldization and the modern society.
McDonaldization is a terminology created by George Ritzier a sociologist in the book
The McDonaldization of Society (1993). Ritzier explains on how the modern society
is adopting the physiognomies of the fast food industry. McDonaldization is a
reconceptualization of rationalization, or moving from traditional to rational modes
of thought, and scientific management. McDonaldization has become a way life and
it s affecting society in all aspects of life and not only the food industry, from Health
care, education, and the workplace. The reason for this is because society is moving
at a faster and a moderate pace.
McDonaldization has become the new face of employment, with this phase
employees are being deskilled, dehumanized and exploited. Computerized system
such as self service aisle is being used to replace employees. Due to
McDonaldization customers are used to do the job of employee s example is
cleaning up after eating in a restaurant, another is pumping your gas at the gas
station. As time goes by, more and more jobs are becoming less interactive because
McDonaldization is wiping away human customer service due pace the present
generation is moving. Ritzier stated in his book the kind of principles used to run this
kind of employments is efficiency, uniformity, predictability and control. The above
mentioned principles have been used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These changes reflect on the daily lives of everyone in the society. Most consumers
choose quantity over quality and prefer the bigger, less time consuming product they
can get for the worth of their dollar. Another is the creation of jobs through franchise
nationwide; Job created through the model of McDonaldization does not need
complex skill, experience, or any form of higher education requirements. The
downside of these jobs is that employee earns very low income since it s less
stressful and demands just a little

The Causes Of The Witch Craze In The 15th Century
A woman was once looked upon as a healer, ancient persist, mid wife, therapist,
cook, sever of goddess, a positive figure, etc. As time went on, women were not seen
as they were originally portrayed. Women were eventually viewed as a witch. Each
culture had a different perception on what a witch looked like, but each represented
the same thing. In essence, the witch craze brought about the dark side of a female.
Some causes of witch craze in the fifteenth century would include hallucinations,
people not wanting to be tortured and people needing something to blamemisfortune
on. Firstly, hallucinations occur as a result of the induction of hallucinogens into
the blood stream. Some people have always wondered how witches got the stigma
of being able to fly. During the witch craze, drugs were popular. With the hot topic
of witch s, people who used drugs, hallucinated witches being able to fly. When
there is a lot of pressure and tension is high around a person, some people use drugs
to find an escape. By finding an escape, people made up being able to see witches
fly or, just wanted to be known by telling others a fib to bring attention to ones self.
For those who don t use drugs, they are highly influenced by the people who do use
them, making them paranoid and susceptible to believe anything they hear. In the
1600 s, the deception was how people saw witches flying around on a broomstick.
Because drugs and witches were a popular trend, people added on to the lie of

The Authority Of Religious Elites In The 1640s Witch Hunts
The Authority of Religious Elites in the 1640s Witch Hunts The large scale witch
hunts that occurred from 1638 to 1651 gathered momentum via major happenings in
the political, societal, and religious domains developing at the time. Individuals who
had either political, religious or economic power in society, also known as elites,
together had absolute control over the pursuit and prosecution of individuals who
partook in witchcraft. The clergy played a crucial role in the witchcraft prosecutions
and were slower than the state and localities to desert their beliefs in the reality of
witches as the prosecution of witchcraft was, in their eyes, an effective tool to
eradicate social deviance. Though local authorities and the Parliament did contribute
to the witch hunts significantly, without the kirk of Scotlanddeclaring and
encouraging this sanction on witchcraft, both other parties would not have taken the
actions they ultimately did. This essay will provide a brief description of events that
took place from 1638 to 1651 and then utilize evidence from a multitude of sources
to argue that the religious elites were the most influential of these forces during the
witchcraft prosecutions that occurred in the 1640s. Due to the Scots dissatisfaction
with the current monarch, King Charles I, the National Covenant was formed by on
February 28th in 1638 at Greyfrairs Kirk in Edinburgh. All his subjects were
welcome to sign this document as it was viewed as an irrevocable contract

Business School At Washington University Essay
Describe your interest in entrepreneurship. Please include any past experiences in
innovation and entrepreneurship:
Ever since I was a young child I always wanted to create the next newest and
biggest invention. For example, when I found out the creator of Jibits for crocs
(those small plastic accessories that go into the holes of crocs sold her company to
crocs for millions of dollars. It was such a simple idea, but also so creative and
innovative. I was hooked on the idea of creating a product and starting my own
company from that point forward.
While I have not had any success yet in creating my own company, I hope to in the
future. This past summer I studied abroad in Israel through Olin Business School at
Washington University in St. Louis program. This program, Israel Summer Business
Academy was a six week program focused entrepreneurship and innovation. While
in Israel, we took classes from both American and Israeli professors. Within groups
during the second half of the program, we created a product to pitch to the rest of
the class. This pitch had to include a minimum viable product, budget decisions and
adverting decisions among a multitude of things. While we were creating our own
products, we visited various Israeli startup companies like wix.com or ReWalk. We
also visited incubators and venture capital firms that fund various startups in Israel.
Being that Israel is known as the start up capital of the world, it allowed me
throughout the summer to fully

The Founding Principles Of The Fourier Series
FOURIER SERIES AND ITS SOME APPLICATIONS
P. Sathyabama

Abstract
The Fourier Series, the founding principle behind the field of Fourier Analysis, is an
infinite expansion of a function in terms of sines and cosines. In physics and
engineering, expanding functions in terms of sines and cosines is useful because it
allows one to more easily manipulate functions. In particular, the fields of electronics,
quantum mechanics, and electrodynamics all make heavy use of the Fourier series.

I.INTRODUCTION
The Fourier Series, the founding principle behind the field of Fourier Analysis, is an
infinite expansion of a function in terms of sines and cosines or imaginary
exponentials. The series is defied in its imaginary exponential form as follows: ...

Since sines and cosines (and in turn imaginary exponentials) form an orthogonal
set1, this series converges for any moderately well behaved function f(x) .Examples
of the Fourier Series for different wave forms are given in figure I.
II.THE FAST FOURIER TRANSFORMS
The Fourier Series is only capable of analyzing the frequency components of certain,
discretefrequencies (integers) of a given function. In order to study the casewhere the
frequency components of the sine and cosineterms are continuous, the concept of the
Fourier Transform must be introduced. The imaginary exponential form of the
Fourier Transform is defined as

The Trail Of The American Revolutionary War
The Trail to The American Revolutionary War The roots of the American Revolution
can be traced all the way back to the year 1763 when British leaders began to tighten
imperial reins. Once the relations between Britain and the colonies became more of a
conflict. Britain s land policy prohibiting settlement in the West irritated colonists as
well as the arrival of British troops. The colonists believed that they should be able to
live democratically. Alongside, Britain feeling as though they owned the American
.colonies. Britain also felt that they could use the American colonies resources in any
way that they wished. Furthermore, the colonists did not want to live being ruled by
another country. Some of the major events that led to the... Show more content on

The war started out terrible for the British. Within the first two years the French and
Indians defeated the British colonies. General Braddock, the leader of the British
army tried to capture Fort Duquesne, but the French succeeded in defeating the
British force and General Braddock was killed. Furthermore, the British sent more
resources to America and they began to catch the French forts in the years 1759
1760 the British captured Montreal and Canada; thus, completing the capturing of
North America by winning the Battle of The Plains of Abraham. This led to the
conclusion of Seven Years War; it ended on February 10, 1763 when the Treaty of
Paris was signed. This began a long spiral of events that led to the American
Revolution. The British had sent over 10,000 troops to North America by the end of
the French and Indian War. The British felt like they had spent a lot of money
protecting the American colonists. They were in debt around 140 million pounds. In
order to pay off all of their debt the British decided to increase the existing taxes on
the colonists and charge additional taxes. This led to the British issuing The
Proclamation of 1763 which meant that the colonists could not manipulate the
Indians out of land. They also made it to where they could not buy land. This act
made the colonist furious because it made them feel like the British were trying to
limit their economic population growth. The Act of 1764, also

piracy. This will give you better knowledge and understanding in determining:
Who s right? The pirates or the government and businesses? Journals I ve read

Introduction In this report, we will be discussing reasoning for and against
software piracy and downloading copyrighted material. Therefore, the parts we
discuss are a matter of facts mixed with opinions. These include e books, reputable
websites, my personal experiences and many other resources from which I formed
my argument. This will not be biased towards either part, therefore producing a
report which is fair and delivers a reputable argument for the question we are going
to discuss. I will outline my reasons for software piracy in the first paragraph,
followed by my reasons against it. I will then give my reasoning to agree with

Stereotypes In Canada
In our contemporary Canadian society, gender is extremely binary; either you re a
girl or a boy. In every part of our culture, even when babies are in the womb the
parents have the desire to find out the sex of the baby, when in reality it doesn t
matter. Even when you grow up, you re either all about blue and sports or pink and
princesses. These social norms are so set into place in our society it is hard to
challenge that and be different from the norm. Many people see this difference as
abnormal and disgusting as the cisgender and heterosexual orientation of each
individual has been such a staple of our patriarchal society. In Canada trans
individuals often are victims of lack of safety, poverty and health risks. The
transgender community... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While these flawed views have diminished in recent years for lesbians and gay
men, transgender people are still often met with ridicule from society. This stigma
plays out in a variety of contexts; leaving them vulnerable to lawmakers who
attempt to leverage anti transgender stigma to score cheap political points; to
family, friends or coworkers who reject transgender people upon learning about
their transgender identities; to people who harass, bully and commit serious
violence against transgender people. These transgender people face extraordinary
levels of physical and sexual violence, whether on the streets, at school or work, at
home, or at the hands of government officials. More than one in four trans people
has experienced a bias driven assault, and rates are higher for trans women and
trans people of color. According to the 2013 National Coalition of Anti Violence
Programs reports on hate violence against lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer
communities, 72 percent of the victims of LGBTQ hate violence homicides in
2013 were transgender women, and 67 percent were transgender women of color.
In 2015, worldwide, a transgender person was murdered every 31 hours. There were
fewer police reported crimes in 2015 targeting people because of their sexual
orientation (155 compared to 185 in 2012) but that remains one of

Meursault s Indifference in The Stranger, by Albert Camus
In The Stranger, Albert Camus allows the main character to tell the story in order to
give the reader an experience of his own. Obviously, with a novel also comes
language, which Camus incorporates cleverly as a way to indirectly illustrate
Meursault s thoughts about certain situations. Although the novel represents a
postmodern setting, the author shifts the overall meaning. In The Stranger, Camus
applies a unique literary style as a power that deflects blame from Meursault, the
antiheroic character. In order to disclaim the fault of Meursault, Camus incorporates
several instances in which he leaves a greater sense of authority to nonliving objects,
while further drawing attention away from the main character. Based on the
implication of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, he covers the Arab s intentions when talking about the same blade that
persists in bringing Meursault pain. He describes the stabbing as a scorching blade
[that] slashes at [his] eyelashes and stabs at [his] stinging eyes (59). The moment that
the blade brings itself to Meursault s face and slashes at his eyelashes, of course, is
the point at which Meursault acknowledges that everything is beginning to reel.
Finally, under the influence of the sea s fiery breath and the sun s scorching attitude,
Meursault admits that the trigger gave when reminiscing on the death of the Arab
(59). Not until after he blames the trigger for the mishap does he use first person to
describe the negative actions, as he shoots the Arab four more times. At this point,
perhaps, he realizes his own fault within the situation as he continues to set himself in
place for the remainder of part one. The simple sentences in The Stranger reveal
Meursault s emotional detachment from society, while the more complex sentences
are assigned to objects with authority. Throughout the entire novel, Meursault s
simplicity and disinterest in the world can be identified with the incorporation of his
simple statements. Especially in this particular passage, Meursault finds it
unimportant to challenge himself in a way that makes sense. Although Meursault
recognizes the sensibility of walking

Immanuel Kant Deontology
Deontology
The decisions of deontology may be appropriate for an individual but does not
necessarily produce a good outcome for society. Deontology (also known as
nonconsequential), by contrast, is dependent on moral laws, duties, rules and
intuitions and centers on the principles of 18th century philosopher Immanuel Kant.
These moral laws and duties declare that actions such as lying, murdering and
breaking promises are fundamentally wrong and we have no duty to partake in these
actions. (CRI) This moral theory stems from the Greek works deon and logos , which
mean the study of duty. Deontology states that an action s morality holds great value,
and therefore the result of a wrong action does not make it s outcome ethical. In other
words,

Compare And Contrast Tell Tale Heart And The Cask Of...
Vengeful = Villain Revenge has existed for a long time. A vengeful character is
often portrayed as the villain which therefore makes a revenge seem evil, but many
authors tend to use revenge in books as a way to surprise the reader. Two short
stories that feature the theme of revenge are , The Cask Of Amontillado (CA) by
Edgar Allen Poe and Sredni Vashtar (SV) by H.H Munro (Saki). In CA the
character s revenge was motivated by Fortunato using acts of derision on the main
character in the past, while in Sredni Vashtar Conradin s revenge is motivated by
Mrs. De Ropp s absence of sympathy for Conradin. In Tell Tale Heart (TTH) by
Edgar Allen Poe, the way that the main character kills the old man is often

Sredni Vashtar is about Conradi and his sour cousin named Mrs. De Ropp who
both hate each other. Mrs. De Ropp would never, in her honestest moments, have
confessed to herself that she disliked Conradin, though she might have been dimly
aware that thwarting him for his good was a duty which she did not find
particularly irksome. (1) In this statement, we find out that Ms. De Ropp finds it
enjoyable to beat Conradin but won t admit it to herself that she does. Conradin
justifiably hates her and knows it in his heart. We see this when the narrator states
Conradin hated her with a desperate sincerity which he was perfectly able to mask
(1). Conradin s only freedom during the day is when he sneaks out to the gardeners
shack. When he is there he praises and worships a large polecat ferret. The cousin
is often wonders where he is when he is in the shed. One day she searches his room
and finds the shed key. She then goes into the shed when Conradin is inside.
Surprisingly, the polecat ferret kills her just as Conradin had prayed for it to do.
And every night, in the welcome darkness of his bedroom, and every evening in the
dusk of the tool shed, Conradin s bitter litany went up: Do one thing for me, Sredni
Vashtar. The reader is led to believe that Conradin had his revenge planned out and
was praying to his god the ferret named Sredni Vashtar to kill

The World Of The Soviet Union
Space Race What would the History of the world have be if the United States
never landed on the moon, but instead the Soviet Union was successful at sending
cosmonauts to the moon and were the first humans to ever step foot on a celestial
body? This is what I wanted to explore in my research, this is all subjective we
cannot go back in time to see what the outcome would have been if it never
happened the way it did. The idea has been talked about even with the sceptics who
think the whole moon landing in 1969 was a hoax to give the United States the
title and make the Soviets stop pursuing the moon landing. In this paper I want to
give a little history of actual events and then examine ideas of alternative events.
Towards the end of 1957 the Soviet Union Launched the first man made satellite in
space called Sputnik I on October 4th and that event changed history forever
(History.com, 2010). Sputnik wasn t much as far as what we know as satellites
today it was just a sphere that sent radio signals back to earth while it orbited the
earth in low orbit for 3 months. The population of the United States now feared how
much more technology advanced the soviets were compared to the Americans who at
the time only thought about putting satellites in space for surveillance of foreign
countries especially the soviets. One month later the Soviets successfully launched
Sputnik II which this time carried the first dog into space named Laika which orbited

Togo s Economy
Years after independence, the politico economic system of Togo was strongly
influenced by French settlers, not only in the field of foreign trade and investment in
export goods but also in the monetary and budgetary policies. At that time, Togo s
economy was prosperous and its macroeconomic aggregates showed signs of growth.
Afterward in the 1980 90s, exogenous and endogenous factors had caused Togo s
economy to stagnate. Among these factors were the deterioration of the terms of
trade, the suspension of development aid from Bretton Woods Institutions (BWIs),
the CFA franc devaluation and the socio economic crisis, just to mention a few. The
failure of the four (4) consecutive five year plans had been a determining factor to

Furthermore, many researches show the intrinsic link between Economic
Development Patterns (EDPs) and the reduction of the poverty rate. HPAEs most
successful economies, especially China, have attested of this correlation meaning that
EDPs impact positively on economic growth cutting down the incidence of poverty.
To corroborate this argument as an example, the modeling of Chinese economy in the
1978 s reforms had greatly contributed to the economic recovery of China.
Therefore, beyond the economic cooperation that links Togo and China in the areas
of trade and Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs), China s EDP might be one of the
solution approaches to solve development challenges that Togo faces.
Nevertheless, it is obvious that differences may exist between China and Togo, not
only in the size of the economy but also in the political and economic systems.
Should these differences be relevant to question the EDP

Stricter Gun Control Research
Throughout the past 20 years, the purchase of guns have increased drastically but at
the same time, crimes with firearms are down a shocking 69% (Snyder). Gun
control is often used to create laws for the intention of reducing gun injuries or
death by gun and might involve background checks or creating difficulty to own a
gun altogether. Some believe strict gun laws will help America reduce murder rates.
However, others believe gun control will remove the right to bear arms as an
individual. America needs to refrain from enforcing gun control because citizens have
the constitutional right to own guns and gun control will fail to decrease murder
rates which would better be decreased by a basic education of gun safety. The Second
Amendment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first, the idea of fewer guns in a country equals less crime is commonly thought.
Although that may be true in some cases, a criminal is still a criminal with or
without a gun. Reducing guns might reduce some crime but there are still many
other methods of murder or suicide. Also, if a criminal will kill, they will most
likely steal. Guns that are taken away from criminals could be bought illegally or
stolen. 37.4% of prison mates with crime involving a gun was not owned by them
(Planty). Another common thought is that many countries have proved gun control
is affective. However, only a few countries like England and Japan have strict gun
control laws and low crime rates. Countries like Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, and
Sweden all have less gun control and less crime. More countries with less gun control
have less gun crime than the countries with strict gun

Academic Achievement Of Graduate Education
Many undergraduate nursing programs aim to fulfill many pathways into the nursing
career while inspiring early achievement of graduate education. The undergraduate
programs share multiple commonalities, the differences are visible in the structure of
the courses structure and the contents (Billings Halstead, 2016, p. 135). The first
curriculum model of training created in the late nineteenth and early to mid twentieth
centuries was the Diploma programs. At first the program was associated with
hospitals and higher educational institutions, with the goal of training nurses in
clinical skills to deliver patient care in many health care environment over a period
of three years. The program mainly consisted of general education courses in the
biological and social sciences which was facilitated through association with a local
collegeor university. Students were able to transfer their credits to a baccalaureate
degree in nursing to further their education. The continuing progress of
undergraduate program into colleges and universities has cause the decrease in
diploma schools and has contributed to 10% of nursing programs educating students
in the United States. The existence of ASN or associate degree in nursing (ADN)
programs were initiated in 1952 by Mildred Montag in reaction to nursing shortages
and to produce nurses in two years to provide care to patients with guidance of
professional nurse in acute care environment (Billings Halstead, 2016, p.135).

Black Girls At War
Women are important in our society. Every woman has her own job or duty in this
modern society in which they would view women to be less than men. We can t
forget that women s like is lot more complicated than a men s life. A woman must
take care of her own person like and if she is a mother. She must take care also about
her children s life. Marriage women have lots of worries and believe it or not, they
carry out more stressful life than marriage men. Over all women in life generaliiy

Filibuster Reform Case Study
The United States Congress is often described with two words: unproductive and
unpopular. As Congress s approval ratings continue to plummet it has become
evident that gridlock plays a major role in voter s feelings towards congressional
productivity. Many voters are beginning to worry that Congress is more broken
than ever due to the fact that it seems as if it is no longer able to make even the
smallest bipartisan decisions (Binder, 2013). Congress is appearing to seem
dysfunctional to the public eye in regard to Congressional responses to many issues
including health care and immigration (Todd et al., 2013). Growing partisanship and
inability to compromise is seemingly the cause of the ineffectiveness of Congress.

The filibuster has a major impact on the efficiency of Congress and is something
that could be changed in order to improve Congressional efficiency. Currently, a
supermajority of sixty votes is required to end a filibuster, but if a lower number
such as forty one votes was required, forty one votes would also be required to
maintain a filibuster. This would mean that Congressional members would have less
of a chance to hinder the ability of the legislative body to move forward on
important legislation. This would improve public perception of the legislative
process and likely increase Congressional approval ratings. In addition to lessening
the number of votes required to end a filibuster, Congress could increase productivity
by ending the filibuster on the motion to proceed. This would limit debate on a
motion to two hours, which would be divided equally between the two parties (Staff,
2014). This would eliminate the practice of an overabundance of prior floor debate
altogether and cap the amount of time spent debating the motion to proceed. The
filibuster recent years has become a routine parliamentary maneuver rather than the
rare occurrence that it once

Deaf People
The phrase but you don t look deaf was the impetus for this research project. The
stereotype exists that if you are deaf or have another disability, you are easily
distinguished by visual clues that the person is deaf. This research sought to
discover if hearing people were correct in this assumption, and you could tell that
someone was deaf because of a particular visual clues that would indicate they are
deaf. In order to research this idea, I made a survey online using google forms using
images of both hearing, hard of hearing and deaf people and asked respondents to
choose one of the responses. The findings are being presented with google
spreadsheets and google forms.
My survey contained thirteen pictures of hearing, deaf, and ... Show more content on

The guessing based on visual clues was what I wanted, and it indicated that
hearing people cannot tell if a person is deaf or not by looking at them. Knowing
that Jeremy Joseph and CJ Jones were not famous, I decided to add Marlee Matlin
and Sean Beardy to the survey as both are well known deaf actors. In doing so, I
believed that the vast majority would know that they are both deaf, but I was
incorrect in this assumption. Only 72.4% (165/228) of all people who participated
knew Marlee Matlin was deaf and 73.1% (155/212) of all hearing people knew
Marlee Matlin was deaf. This number was much lower than expected as Marlee
Matlin is by far the most iconic deaf actor in Hollywood. The findings were more
dismal for Sean Berdy. 46% (104/228) of all participants thought he was hearing
and 42% (96/228) thought he was deaf. The results were disheartening because I
thought most people knew that they were deaf and they were supposed to be more
of a control for people s knowledge, unfortunately this was not the case. My research
has once again indicated that hearing people cannot tell if a person is deaf or not by
just looking at them.
To take this research a little bit further, I talked to ten of the people who I know
personally that took the survey. I had them compare the correct answers and their
answers and asked them why they

Project based learning suggests that curriculum should begin with a comfortable
learning environment, asking questions instead of lecturing (Markham, 2012).
Virginia has identifiable standards designed specifically for four year old students,

Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS) program to assess

selectively implement activities that identify the standards and help each child s

The first primate I observed at the zoo was the Black Mangabey. The Black

One who continuously fails to obtain a goal or to overcome an obstacle will not

situation, Miami was the defending national champion and entered the game ranked
twelfth in the nation, while Boston College ranked tenth. With little time remaining on
the clock, Flutie called a play in which the receivers needed to run straight routes into
the end zone. After the snap, Flutie scrambled to his right, avoiding a sack. Flutie had

Explain Why I Hate Grammar
I hate grammar and I want to cum. So far my bad grammar has cost me 11 points.

Today was my first edge in a hospital how exciting lol. I was at the hospital all night
with my best friend who is having a baby so I couldn t quite edge in my bed in the
morning. My Master still required me to edge though so I went to one of the
bathrooms here at the hospital. I had to put in my plug for the day anyways. Once
I got to the bathroom and got into a stall I stuck my hand down my pants
immediately. I was already wet what a shocker. I started to push two fingers into
my pussy. Fucking it with them. I used the other hand and started to rub my clit
while I fucked my pussy. It felt so fucking good like really good. I really wanted to
cum but cumming without my Masters permission would not have ended well for
me. I was really wet after this so I wiped up my pussy juices and licked them up off

Analyzing Captain Gibson s The Miracle Worker
1.In the first act, the key represents the struggle between Helen and Annie. Helen
locks Annie in her room on page 730, and only when Annie sees her throw the key
in the well at the end of the act does she realize how difficult it will be to teach
Helen. The key could also be said to represent control and trust. In the second act,
Annie locks Helen in the dining room, and, at this point, Annie has control. In act
III, however, the door is unlocked. Helen is delighted to discover this; she hurries to
the front door, opens and closes it, removes its key, opens and closes it again to be
sure it is unlocked, gropes back to the rear door and repeats the procedure, removing
its key and hugging herself gleefully. She knows they trust her now. At the end of the
play, Helen gives... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gibson s use of dialect in The Miracle Worker is important because it reveals more
about the characters; for example, it reveals the low education level of the children
and the fact that they live in the South. 3.The dialect of the conversation reveals that
they have a poor education and that they live in the South. 4.Captain Keller is an
antagonist because he doesn t agree with Annie about how to teach Helen. At the
dinner scene, Captain Keller steps in to handle the conflict, but ends up making
things even worse, undoing two weeks of Annie s disciplinary work. 5.The setting
itself is an antagonist because in the South at that time women were viewed as the
flowers of civilization, and Captain Keller would be considered the most powerful
person in the house. Thus, Annie standing up to Captain Keller as she does in the
story would be unheard of. 6.James Keller is an antagonist because he leaves Annie

Disadvantages Of Plastics
Picture this; over one trillion plastic bags are used every year worldwide. Plastic is
not biodegradable so for each bag it takes one thousand years to degrade or totally
break down. Since plastic was first produced in 1907, humans have generated 8.3
billion metric tons plastic products, that is equivalent to 25,000 empire state buildings
or 80 billion blue whales. Plastics have outlasted most man made materials and have
been under environmental scrutiny for quite some time. Although plasticwas once
regarded as convenient and versatile, it has become one of the biggest environmental
problems of our time; different types of plastic can take anywhere from one to one
thousand years to decompose, it is time for this generation to put the work in on
biodegradable alternatives to plastic.
Why won t plastic break down? Sid Perkins, a ten year vet with Science News
Magazine reports, Plastics are a type of polymer, a class of materials that gets its
name from the Greek words for many parts. Researchers create polymers by
chemically stringing together large numbers of simple carbon based units called
monomers ( single parts ). The near endless variety of plastics stems from the
diversity of monomers, esters, amides and imides, to name a few, and the degree of
linkage that exists between polymer chains: In general, the more bonds there are,
the stiffer the plastic (Perkins 34 37). . Products that are easily biodegradable
generally will dissolve in water, or soak it up. If something

Aristotle Persuasion
In definition rhetorical theory is a theory where the speaker is giving a persuasion
to the audience in the form of logical, emotional, and ethical aspect. Greek
philosopher Aristotle is the first person that came to up the idea of the art of
persuasion, an art that is use for public speaking, where he explains that there are
three types of persuasion such as, deliberative, forensic, and epideictic. Aristotlealso
includes that the important element of public speaking or persuasive communication
is the audience. Audience is the most important aspect of persuasion, considering if
there is no audience, then there is no act of persuasion. In the past Aristotle or ancient

Presidential Debates
Television and the purpose of it has changed in a negative way throughout the years.
At the beginning, we took advantage of being able to be a part of the presidential
elections and acquire the facts about what truly mattered during the debates. Lately
we ve started to look at what the screen is showing us rather than concentrating on
what it was actually telling us. We as people have begun to want to appoint our
official leaders based on who looks better and televisionhas helped feed this desire for
the worst. Technology has been changing progressively from the start. Everything
about it ranging from the speed, the design, the size has been replaced with a
modernized and immaculate version. Computers, phones, and televisions all started...

The first way they make this possible is to groom and primp their image. Theodore
White thought that Kennedy benefited because his image on television was crisp ;
Nixon s light colored suit, wrong makeup, bad posture was fuzzed (Source C). He
is saying that Kennedy acknowledged the fact that his appearance made a big
difference in how the people looked at him and he made sure that he was up to par
with his looks. Another way they make their appearance look better in comparison
is to draw attention away from themselves and attack their opponent s character.
This technique is referred to as ad hominem and it is one of the most common ones
used in this year s presidential debates. A prime example of this is when Donald
Trump once said, Unstable Hillary Clinton, lacks the judgment, temperament and
moral character to lead this country and I believe that so strongly, he then later
continued with, She s really pretty close to unhinged, and you ve seen, you ve seen
it a couple times. The people in the background know it, the people who know her
know it and she s like an unbalanced person. In this claim he has completely left the
topic of what truly matters and has started to stray away from it in an attempt to
make Hillary seem inferior. All of this is a battle of image over image. Louis
Menand wrote, Our national politics has become a competition for images or
between images, rather than between ideals (Source C). This statement just backs up
the idea that we ve started to focus on looks rather than

The Library of Congress
b HISTORY /b br The Library of congress was established by an act of congress on
April 24, 1800. It was originally housed in the United States capitol. The collection,
which stared out small at 740 volumes, slowly increased to over 3,000 volumes by
1814. That year, though, the British along with the capitol burned those books
during the assault on Washington. br br To rapidly replace the collection, Thomas
Jefferson offered his personal library to congress at no cost, describing the nature
of his books like so: I do not know that it contains any branch of science which
Congress would wish to exclude from the collections; there is, in fact, no subject to

Causes Of Poverty In America
When a person thinks of the term poverty it is easy to imagine a third world
country with hardly and food or water. It is easy to imagine the children we see on
the television reaching out for assistance. While it is almost impossible to imagine
that poverty is right here in America, there are many living in povertyright under our
noses. Can you believe that one of the healthiest countries has so many of its
citizens living below the poverty line? Poverty can affect people of all
socioeconomic statuses. However, it has the most detrimental and lasting effect on
children. Think about how many kids are going to bed hungry, or are teased for not
being able to dress as well as the other kids. Think about how many kids drop out of
school, or suffer from health issues that are not treated in time. Poverty in America is
a serious issue because it affects children s development, health, educational
outcomes, and social mobility. Ways to improve these conditions are to promote better
healthcare, school systems, and upward mobility.
Social mobility is the movement of individuals, families, households, or other
categories of people within or between social strata in a society. B. Economic mobility
, the ability to move up or down the economic ladder during one s lifetime and
across generations, is central to the ideal of the American Dream (Fass et al., 2009).
Poverty can affect a child s ability to move upward on the social ladder. Children
living in poverty have a harder time

The Need for Groundwater Extraction Regulation
Groundwater is used primarily for irrigating farmland; and secondarily, for
consumption and industrial use. Aquifers, unconsolidated subterranean layers
which hold water, are rapidly dwindling, and groundwater depletion is quickly
growing to become a major problem for farmers and the public at large. Reserves
close to ground level are rapidly drying up and due to technological roadblocks,
extracting water from deeper reserves is not yet financially feasible. The problem is
especially severe in California, which represents around 20% of all groundwater
withdrawal in the United States (Famiglietti, LA Times). A lack of water for
agriculture would directly lead to diminished food production and indirectly lead to
requiring food imports from outside the state. Groundwater resources are an
unregulated public resource and despite any innovative breakthrough in extraction
techniques, the only sustainable, long term solution is to enforce limits on extraction.
Regulation of how much groundwater can be extracted from an aquiferin a set period
of time; along with incentives to obtain water from alternative sources is the ideal
solution to address the perennially growing challenge of groundwater depletion in
California.
This regulatory effort must begin in politics but it needs to spread to society as well
only when people realize the consequences of over extraction will they even consider
ceasing doing so. This solution is not based primarily in science and technology, and
is

Come To America
Every year, millions of people immigrates to America. In 2014, 1.3 million foreign
born individuals moved to the United States, with an 11 percent increase from 1.2
million in 2013(www.migrationpolicy.org). According to the statistics, America has
the highest number of immigrants flowing in the country. Main reason why people
migrate from their homeland is their quest to promote their lifestyle among the best.
Immigrants settle in America, hoping to become one of them, to gain the
opportunity to regain their prestige , to attain rights of freedom to choose their
desirable profession, and to have the chance to work with others, proving that
America treats everyone equally. Immigrants from eastern world come to America
with a hope to retrieve wide opportunities. In the poem The New Colossus 1883 ,
Emma Lazarus, the author, advocates the thoughts and feelings of the Jewish
immigrants, who come to America as a refugee, and also describes the welcoming
nature of America. In her work, she says, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

Robi Robin Hood Research Paper
Robin Hood, heroic outlaw in English folklore, who was a highly skilled archer and
swordsman. Described as being dressed in Lincoln green, he is often portrayed as
robbing from the rich and giving to the poor (Wright, A Beginner s Guide to Robin
Hood. ) alongside his band of Merry Men.
Many people see Robin Hood as a hero. He was definitely a hero to the poor people
of Nottingham, where the story takes place. He stole from the rich and gave to the
poor. But to the rich, he was a criminal. What Robin Hood didn t think about, was
that even though the outcome was good for him and many people, the way he did

Abstract
The Vietnam War had a profound effect on American society.
It changed the way we viewed our government, the media, and our Constitutional
rights. Because of this shift in perspective, the country was torn apart and yet still
came together in new and different ways. The Vietnam War s contraversiality spurred
a great many sources of protest, against our government s use of power, how far we
could stretch the rights of free expression, and primarily against the violence of the
war itself. These changes in the behavior of society have ... Show more content on

Although several hundred colleges experienced teach ins, most campuses were
untouched by this circumstance. Nevertheless, the teach ins had the desired impact
when they contributed to President Johnson s decision to address at Johns Hopkins
University on April 7, 1965 concerning the Vietnam issue (Gaullucci, 47). The
address tried to respond to the teach ins campus protest activity.
This speech was one of the first major examples of the antiwar movement getting to

1960s, even President Johnson s advisors were realizing that the tide of public
opinion had begun to turn against Johnson on the Vietnam issue (Katsiaficas, 8). The

Organized Crime Vs Globalized Crime
but that changed when financialization and globalization influenced the larger firms,
for example, Fiat, to extract long term and innovative ventures from this country
(Borioni, 2011).
Organized crime and corruption are substantial impairments to both investments and
financial growth, which has an estimated 60 billion dollars squandered yearly in
unused public resources. Transnational organized crime has manifested because of
globalization and the increasing financial interdependence, which have been the
placated and steadying influences that have encouraged crime across the borders,
places, individuals, and identifiable victims (Massari, 2001).
Organized crime started in Sicily when the Sicilians came together to protect
themselves and perform their own impartiality, had no criminal implications, but was
represented as an individual who was suspicious of dominant authority (Origins of the
Mafia, 2009). Some of these groups transpired as private armies, or mafie and these
groups extorted money from landowners for protection and in turn emerged as the
Sicilian Mafia. As the unseasoned government in Italy was attempting to inaugurate
itself in 1861, the crime controlled the country and by 1870 Roman officials
propositioned the Sicilian Mafia to assist them by going after threatening, individual
groups and the government would turn their heads when the Mafia extorted
protection money from the landowners (Origins of the Mafia, 2009). Although this

The City of Ember is an underground city that has problems with their society. Doon
and Lisa are two of many people in the city. They are both 12 years old and they
want to help the city by being electricians and Messengers. The cities lights are

there way of succeeding in the goals. The themes in the City of Emberis that when
change happens, we have to adapt. And in hard times you have to find hope.
The first theme is that when change happens, we have to adapt. This is shown
throughout the book in so many ways. On pages 139 it says, Lina bent forward until
her head rested against granny s shoulder. Good night granny. This shows that Lina
had to adapt to granny passing away even after both her parents died from trying
escape the City of Ember. Now Lina has to adapt to have no parents and no
grandparents. Another example is on page 5, and it says, Grown people did their
work, and younger people, until 12 were in School. After 12 years old, the students
are assigned a job to work for the city. This shows that the students had to adapt to
having a bigger responsibility. These pages in the book show that when change

The Real Estate Bubble Crisis
From the late 1990 s to mid 2000 s the United States experienced an unprecedented
run up of real estate prices across the country that reached a peaked in 2006, in
some areas up to an eighty percent increase. After the increase in prices, there was a
sudden collapse of real estate prices in 2008, brought on by a surge in foreclosures,
and an increasing inventory of housing.1 Foreclosure increases came from an
unprecedented rise in mortgages called, subprime mortgages. These risky subprime
mortgages, and the cottage industry within the financial sector that profited from
them, created an overly leveraged and over exposed finance industry that created a
massive recession when the bubble popped. In this essay, we will look into the many

Foreign investors starving for fixed income securities that also had returns better than
government securities, decided to invest in mortgage back securities provided by
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In order to take advantage of the savings glut Wall
Street firms began to package many of these sub prime mortgages together and
create what was known as a mortgage backed security.1 A mortgage backed
security, was an asset backed security that was secured by a collection of upwards
a several hundred mortgages. The issue was the mortgage back securities provided
by Fannie, Freddie, and investment banks were given good ratings by rating
agencies such as Standard and Poor s and Moody s, even though these assets were
toxic. They gave the mortgage back securities good ratings, because their risk
assessment models solely used previous housing data, and did not include any
possibility of a fall in housing prices.3 As a result, overseas investors believed they
were getting secure assets with above average returns, but instead they were getting
very toxic assets instead. So the interest in these mortgage back securities continued
the flood of savings, continuing the suppression of interest rates and maintained the
status quo.2 Banks lent out these sub prime mortgages at a prolific rate because
even if the borrower foreclosed, banks were still able to make a profit, as they
resold a higher priced house. Another form of easy credit came from the historically
low short term rates

Assignment I
1.Create TWO bad behaviour of Case and Disease Management systems scenarios
and explain each in detail?
The Encyclopaedia of Business, 2nd Edition on the Reference for Business website
describes a role of a management information system as a computer system that
provides management and other personnel within an organisation with up to date
information (Management Information Systems, para 4). A bad behaviour scenario is
when this system does not meet the intended requirements and leaves the business
less efficient and the customers dissatisfied.
First scenario: A patient suffers from heart disease. Their medical consultation history
such as appointments and follow up care is taken care of by the case management
system and the progress of their heart disease in managed by the disease management
system. The patient moves houses and thus has a change in address, however this
change, due to poor management, has only been recorded in the disease management
system and thus the old address is still active in the case management system.
Confidential health reports are sent to the wrong address due to the incorrect
information in the case management system, unknown to the hospital. This
compromises the patient s medical privacy and also inconveniences them as they are
not receiving their own personal health reports by mail. Second scenario: A

Ezra-Nehemiah
The inspiration for Bede s reform program comes from a pattern that can be found
in the book of Ezra Nehemiah which can be conveniently divided into three
sections. Each of these sections deals with a similar situation and issues: a return
from exile which includes projects of restoration and reform. Today modern
English translations of the Bible print the text of Ezra Nehemiah as two distinct
books. By having Ezra and Nehemiah as separate books was not always the way in
which these texts were written; they were traditionally combined into one book in
the Hebrew and Greek Bibles. However, by considering them as one document, it
will help to make it much easier to understand the book in its three parts. The first

Bede begins by levelling a list of grievances that he has regarding the state of the
episcopate in Northumbria. According to him, the bishops were neglecting their
duties such as preaching, teaching, visitations, and confirmation. There was also a
general decline in the moral behaviour of bishops. Bede mentions this in his letter
when he writes that they are given to laughter, jokes, idle tales, feasting and
drunkenness and other attractions of a loose way of life. Bishops would typically
only preach if they received money for it, which led to a spiritual impoverishment
for the laity. The laypeople lacked adequate instruction in the faith not only
because of the waywardness of bishops but also because there were not enough
priests to give a good example to the laity to imitate. Another abuse that Bede
objects to is the unjust taxation of the lay faithful and any other forms of clerical
avarice. Many remote farms, hamlets, and small villages were neglected by their
bishop; they were still, however, expected to pay their ecclesial taxes. Bede also
mentions that there simply are not enough dioceses in Northumbria, which would
help to resolve the laity s lack of spiritual education. The reason why bishops were
opposed to the creation of new sees is that larger dioceses... maximize[d] the dues [or

Essay Robert Altmans Nashville
Nashville Essay
Robert Altman s movie Nashville is based on the political, social, and personal
problems that our country has to deal with. These problems are rooted in the battle
between the need to create some false image of success and the need for truth which
is the struggle that exists in every character of this film (except Jeff Goldbloom). To
show this Robert Altman takes us through Nashville s Country Music using political

because it seemed to be more true to reality than just a smooth flowing argument
that would normally be in a movie. The little slip gave way, for the first time, a
vulnerable side to the Hal Walker rep or even politics for that matter.
There is also another form of acousmatic, and it is the subtle comments of the crowd.
Because there are so many appearances and performances the crowd reaction
becomes very important to the context of the story from an outside critical standpoint.
Putting these comments together creates one huge
