Socially Useful and Productive Activity (SUPA) SUPA is a two-credit programme carried out during the Winter break for from 04 Jan - 30 Jan 2024 days. It aims to create awareness and understanding of NGOs addressing social issues.
Program Duration and Purpose The SUPA programme spans 26 days, giving students an immersive experience. Its purpose is to expose them to different NGOs and their efforts in addressing social challenges.
Objectives of the SUPA Programme 1 Experiential Learning Provide students with hands-on experience in a real-world context. 2 Social Awareness Enable students to understand and empathize with social issues. 3 Contributing to NGOs Allow students to actively assist NGOs in improving their operations.
Role of Students in the SUPA Programme 1 Service Work Engage in hands-on projects, such as volunteering, community outreach, and infrastructure development. 2 Research and Analysis Conduct research and analysis to provide insights and recommendations for NGOs to enhance their effectiveness. 3 Capacity Building Facilitate training sessions and workshops to empower NGOs and their staff with new skills and knowledge.
Selection Process and NGO Partnerships Students must select NGOs based on their passion for social causes and their skills..
SUPA commences as and when the final term examination for Term II is over and be submitted well within the first two weeks from the commencement of Term III. The student shall be encouraged to choose an NGO of their accessibility or be assigned by the SUPA cell of XIME. However, the st udents can take up NGOs which is in existence for at least 5 years. Duration of the SUPA programme will be for a minimum of three weeks, within the period from 4 th Jan, 2022 to 30 th Feb 2022. Â A work diary is to be maintained by the students of their activities at the NGO/Work place. The Weekly report (See Annexure 7) should be submitted to the SUPA Supervisor at the end of every week. Failure of submitting the weekly report on time may disqualify you from completing SUPA. Â Students are required to collect a Certificate from the NGO after completion of the work Photographs of student activities at the NGO/ work place must be attached with the report. Students are required to submit a 2-minute video presentation about their SUPA activities in CD format along with the report. Â Students are required to prepare the Individual Report, the format of which is available in the Library and submit the same to the college before the deadline (deadline shall be intimated later).

Preparation of Report At the end of the SUPA, students will consolidate their experience and write a well-organised report. The report will include details about the NGO, managerial learning, contribution, and the NGO's impact on UN-SDG and society.
