Introduction Rational : real ,existing state, experiencing fact Rational knowledge can be defined as a thinking process which is based on reason and logic

Vedanta says Knowledge is Atman or Brahaman This can be his past experiences, what he has heard, and whatever information available.

Definition It can be defined as a thinking process which is based on reason and logic. A person who thinks rationally would pay attention to the factual basis.

This can be past experiences, what he has heard, and whatever information available. When engaging in rational thinking, the individual uses all the information available to him. He would analyze the possible outcomes of the situation and his response before acting.

THERE ARE THREE BASES IN RATIONAL KNOWLEDGE 1. Rational as the Intuitive and deductive knowledge 2. Rationalism as the Innate knowledge 3. Rationalism as the Innate concept

Rational as the intuitive and deductive knowledge Intellectually grasping a proposition,we just “see” it to be true in such a way as to form a true, warranted belief in it. Intuition is a form of rational insight

Intuition and deducation thus provide us with knowledge a priori , which is to say knowledge gained independently of sense experience. It is a process in which we derive conclusions from intuited premises through valid arguments, ones in which the conclusion must be true if the premises are true.

2.Rationalism as the innate knowledge The Innate knowledge asserts the existence of knowledge gained a priori, independently of experience. It is just part of our nature.

It has in some way been with us all along. Experiences may trigger a process by which we bring this knowledge to consciousness

Our innate knowledge is not learned through either sense experience or intuition and deducation

3 Rationalism as the innate concept According to, some of our concepts are not gained from experiences. Experience do not provide the concepts or determine the information they contain.

They are part of rational nature in such a way that ,while sense experiences may trigger a process by which they are brought consciousness
