Ecology means environment . Conducive classroom environment is a requirement in promoting favorable mood or atmosphere in a classroom to ensure an effective teaching and learning process to take place. ( Students learn better in a positive classroom environment in the school). WHAT IS CONDUCIVE LEARNING ECOLOGY:
The classroom learning environment: Apply your knowledge of your students to create a pleasant classroom experience. Create a conducive learning environment : Based on what you have learned . Based on what you prefer . Based on educational ethics and law. Value content and participation .
Important! Believe in yourself. Believe in your students. If you think they cannot learn , they will not .
What do good teachers do: Expect the best . Establish an environment that motivates students. Manage efficiently . Know , when given support that all students can learn . The classroom environment is supportive. You care about their learning . You respect them as human being . Expectations are challenging but not impossible .
Classroom management: Prevent inappropriate behavior . Help students develop self control. Have procedures in place to take care of misbehavior.
Behavior modification: Record how often and when that behavior occurs. Change by reinforcing desired behavior with positive reinforcement. Identify the behavior to be modified.
Choose appropriate reinforcement : Use of computers for creativity. A PowerPoint instead of a paper . Choices of how to use free time : Passes for missed homework , extra points , etc.
Create discipline : You have professional rights as an educator to create a discipline in classroom . Clearly state expectations in firm voice and explain boundaries. Be fair , firm and friendly. Involve students in developing and implementing rules.
Motivation climate : Encourage student achievement . encourage students to do their best. Teacher should maintain a l earning environmen t in classroom that motivates the students.
